miz Sel&Bru, in Don Juan Demarco, the money shot was that first scene where he sits down at the table with that lovely lady in the black dress and he says the fingers/legs speech and it's the money shot big time. I am so taken by the character it's unbelievable.

Like you, I had to "discover" on my own who the man was. and there is no time like the present. He is a very clever man.

He is. He is just amazing at his craft on top of being intoxicatingly good looking. I have so much respect for his work since I have been studying it more and more. Each movie is a different experience.

BTW I got the entire Pirates trilogy for Christmas. Yay!

I also watched the entire Pirates trilogy one after the next yesterday. At World's End seemed better to me then.

Sanity maintained here by residence in alternate reality, ie. I have been running trilogy since 12/21. Tv on=pirates. Life is good. It's so fun having time off and just doing exactly what I want to do.

Miz Sel&Bru--I am a little surprized at how my brain works sometimes. I know when I see pics of Mr. Depp I am struck by how handsome he is--however, I don't always see that. Horizonal stripes on that man's body make me wild with the wrongness of it all until the "veil" drops (means I become totally pixalated) and suddenly I think horizonal stripes are beautiful.

Himself as a much younger man--he is as purty as the new green leaves on a mesquite tree in spring, in other words, heart stopping. I recently came to the realization, I like Mr. Depp however, I love Captain Jack Sparrow. And Jack Sparrow, exotic and compelling as he is , well, handsome, I don't know.

How can you not love Johnny Depp? He is amazing in EVERYTHING he does.

Miz JackCD, Sel&Bru, & Ditte3, Agreed, no contest in what you offer. I just got this picture of my allegiance recently and the what if breakdown for me is this: Some miracle occurs. I am suddenly faced with life partner choice of Mr. Depp 😕 Captain Sparrow. I love Captain Jack. I'd pick him over Mr. Depp. And I know, believe me, that this is top ten weirdness. One man is the "father" of the other.

Just I guess in thinking about ST, well, veghead I am, kinda hard to imagine "loving" a serial killer, singing cannibel 😛 ...you know. 😱 I know that Mr. Depp has the ability to rise to the occasion, any occasion, (he and Burton were joking about doing the Gabor sisters as a movie, and I can see Mr. Depp playing a small blonde Hungarian actress, really well, I might add). Some of the trailers I have seen lead me to believe, I will be won over again (horizontal stripes? 😄 ).

Ah, yes indeedy, Miz Savvy, he has one of the absolute best profiles, indicating other generous proportions...the Captain Jack shot is just short of totally wicked, what might he have been about to say....oh, I know, something along the lines of "yes, tis truth, Texxy, gal, you'd be a great first mate--don't forget the truffles."

Miz Iheart, the Esquire article is cool too--(yeah, right, I didn't look at the pics, just read the articles lol big time). I hope that for the boys Miz Vanessa and Miz Helen enjoy each other's company.

The part I liked about what they said, both, each in their own way, was that they had to work hard to get what they have now--which is a bit of breathing room to do what projects they will. I almost feel like there is a nod to Burton for Scissorhands and other projects that he didn't get credit for originally. Kinda neat to know they are just who they are--that they can be goofy grownups and great dads and creative intellects.

I'd hate to have to feed either of them cos they aren't small after all--but I'd sure love to be a small presence on the edge when they were making movies together. Must be a hoot to watch them together--see who does what when--kinda like watching all of the piratistas here bouncing ideas off one another. That's joy.

Have you guys heard? Johnny has signed on to act in a movie to be directed by Michael Mann (Miami Vice). It's a gangster movie set in the 1930s, when J Edgar Hoover (FBI chief) went on a manhunt for 3 of the the most deadly and dangerous gangsters. Johnny will be playing one of them. Now I know why his dress sense has taken on such a vintage tone. He seems to get really into the character, like dressing, talking or behaving like them, before he acts in the movie.
