Hey I logged on late to say the first of the happy belated bds to our beloved. Okay, I usually decide I won't share my companion (when I've had them) but in the interest of world peace, it is my opinion that I will share Mr. Depp, mostly so ImpPiDiva won't snatch me baldheaded-- 😆 🙄 or some other such...yes it's true. How can he be so utterly devotedly decidedly precious to look at even at his "advanced years"? Does anyone have a clue?

Without facial hair, he looks very young again to me--and 45, well, it's next to nothing for his appetites holding up, yes he might creak a bit, but all in all, still a vital lion of a man. And let's face it, is there any one of us who'd politely say thanks but no thanks at the opportunity to mildly molest, er, caress this gentle man? Cos it's not me.
I'm rather curious about y'alls take on his new tat--okay tat and all, but from the Joyce selection, are we to believe that he is denying his homeland becos he rejects the US politic--I understand that those are the tools that he will use in his own wars--and I must admit if he chooses to reject US then exile is the only respectable avenue he has imho. I have no respect for people who complain or don't agree then will not do anything possible to remediate the situation. The silence tool is an awesome burden, cunning I think he has in spades--for no more formal education than he supposedly has. Just wondering?
Tex, I don't know what you're talking about specifically, but yeah, Johnny's not really into the US. He's called it the DisneyLand of the world and much prefers the European culture and lifestyle. I'll just say that I find him attractive and talented but he and I are almost complete opposites politically. But I will say that I can't stand people who do nothing but complain about their country. If you don't like it, leave. Don't stick around just to take advantage of it and then bite the hand that feeds you. At least he left and found a home he really seems to like.

And to think that the man was born in Kentucky, the very heartland of America. How on earth did he acquire that European taste? Has Johnny forgotten his roots? Hmmm......
Miz Freedom and Miz WilloftheWisp, well, my take is that I don't much care about anyone's polictics or what they think about the world they were born to; I respect those that show respect, don't have to agree with me (my polictics are a couple of centuries old and not likely to change--they are mine), long as you don't harm old people, animals, or babies--I can understand he doesn't care for press underfoot, interrupting his life--desires to go to the local grocery without a giagantic hassle etc--I'm thinking I would probably be that way if I had been burdened with fame (wealth is so much preferable to fame). Mr. Depp was born within a 100 miles or so of where my mother's people are from, we're hillbillies in some ways in that part of the world.
Me, I can understand anyone's desire to walk freely in the world--he needs that privacy (I understand) so he can continue to work so publicly. Me, there is no place like here, good bad and indifferent--I'm an old hippie girl and I can walk freely in most of my world--I don't have to hide myself, I don't get stoned, I am not punished for my gender--do we have it all, naw, we always will have room for improvement--but I a reasonable expectation of the pursuit of happiness. My beliefs, not an arguement against himself. Just curious if I was reading the rift correctly.
For some reason, I think he would get more privacy living in France than he would here. I can't explain why I feel that way, though, lol.
Tex, we have something in common now in that we can connect ourselves to Johnny in some way, although yours is better than mine. He was born not too far from where your family is from? That is pretty cool. You ought to find his birth house and set up a tour.
He's playing John Dillinger, okay, and I lived not 20 minutes from Dillinger's grave at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indiana. People used to chisel off some of the headstone to take as a souvenir, so now the headstone is protected by law. They'll eventually have to do the same for Johnny's. 😖mart:
