I'm digging Ariel Olivetti right now. His work is incredible detailed and yet stylized.... I can't get enough.

When i first saw his work on shaman Xman i was impressed, by far my favorite as of now

Jim Lee, Ivan Reis, Ed Benes, Steve McNiven, etc

Dale Eaglesham should get some major props! He brings life to the Justice Society of America.

I just love how he draws Power Girl and Hawkman. 🙂

These guys have been the best I have seen ever.
Jim Lee
Arthur Adams
Dale Keown
Claudio Castellini (Love his women)
Andrea Devito ( Always thought he was a she because of the name)
Todd McFarlane
Micheal Turner
Joe Madureira
Marc Silvestri
Brett Booth (when he takes his time)
John Byrne
Salvador Laroca

Today, imo it's...

Ed Benes
Ivan Reis
Ethan van Sciver

In no particular order.

But now, there are tons of no-name artists that are excellent as well.

Bryan Hitch's work on Ultimates 1 & 2 was maybe the greatest work I'd ever seen, outside of fully painted work by Alex Ross or Bill Sienkiewicz. Especially Vol. 2.

I also enjoyed Hitch's run on the Justice League

anything by jim lee, but most notebly. His work with the Superman:for tomorrow run.

Ian Churchill
Ed Benes
Jim Lee
Alex Ross
Greg Land
Bryan hitch
Marc Silvestri
Michael Turner
The Kubert Bros.
David Finch
Whilce Portacio
Todd McFarlane
Leinil Francis Yu
Tim Bradstreet
Travis Charest
Brett Booth

has anyone heard of a comic book artist named Steve "Reece" Friesen? Is the quality of his work any good?

Ivan Reis.

Frank *ucking Quitely (Vincent Deighan). Flex Mentallo, Invisibles, All Star Superman, Millar's Authority, JLA: Earth Two, Sandman: Endless Nights.

Best artist in comics, hands down. There's a distinctly unique aesthetic to his artwork that just GETS him. I can't quite put it into words. I think there's a reason he works with Morrison so often, aside from them both being Scottish- his work just EXPLODES with love for the superhero genre and for the sheer fun, cleverness, and power of comic book.

But I could understand why someone might not like him, especially when he's in his more cartoony mode.

Cliff Chiang is becoming a favorite of mine. He should have been picked to do The Spirit after Cooke left.

Totleben and Mobius.

🙂

Mines would have to be Romita Jnr or Frank Miller

Ladronn does some really nice covers.

QFT 👆

benes has gotten mighty lazy of late, though considering the level of writing in jla atm, i doubt any writer would try that hard...

ivan reis is still knockin em out of the park on green lantern...

i'm loving caselli's work on initiative atm...

for me mike choi is one of the best x-men artists ever, and is quicky becoming my favourite (my favourite being whilce portacio)

Ivan is been really good. He captures Superman's look just perfect.
