Here's a joke I just heard: Steve Irwin gets to heaven, and St. Peter sayd "Wow. you look tan." Steve replies "Yeah, caught a few rays on my way up."
Error 1: Flawed joke, actually. It was a single stingray, a few implies more than one.
Error 2: I don't recall him ever doing that with the crocodile's jaw. However, if he did do it a few times, he clearly did it expecting to live, and did. Proof? He wasn't killed by a crocodile, he was killed by a stingray. It's irrelevent to his death.
Error 3: I suggest you research Steve Irwin. Why people have this idea that he was some animal torturing tormentor, out to harm and annoy, I have no clue. He was the complete opposite.
To say you expected something bad to happen sooner or later, fine. To say he had it coming is downright stupid.

"loss"Personally, I'd rather get shanked in the chest by a fish than drown in some heavy ass chainmail.
It's not heavy it would have been aircraft aluminum and would have actually floated on the top, if spread out, acting as a floatation device for Steve in the event he lost all his limbs in a random shark attack.
Thanks for fixing my spelling I'm usually doing two things at once, like your sisters.

No. It's called a STINGray. The name alone implies some element of danger when the animal is present.
All kinds of acrobats, mountain climbers, etc. never live to see old age. They expect it as part of the territory. For you to imply that Steve didn't have some inclination that he had a good chance of biting the big one while working is to think he was incredibly naive.

Steve was dipped in the River Styx as a babe. It's a shame they didn't get his heart all in because it was so big because of his love for animals and the world. So I'm pretty sure he had no idea that he was going to die especially by getting stabbed in the chest by a stingray, it's probably why he didn't wear my chainmail that I offered to sell him.
Nerf, chainmail suits, pioneered by Ron and Valerie Taylor, aren't floatation devices in the event of lost limbs. You have no idea what you're on about.
They're designed to PREVENT loss of limbs, not aid you if it does happen.

What logic is that? Shark doesn't imply danger in the name, so therefore he shouldn't be weary?
Stingrays RARELY ever kill, and the fact that it happened in the way it did is freakishly rare. Only a handfully of people have ever died that way, they're usually very passive creatures.

Oh do feel free to talk sense.
Steve Irwin was ALWAYS aware of the risks, and anyone who watched him in action knew this. Whenever he got bit, attacked or harmed by an animal, he blamed himself, he respected them and their territory.
If you think that it was going to happen sooner or later, fine, but to say he had it coming is pathetic. He didn't deserve to die did he? No.

It's a joke....what the hell. A good one at that too. Do you go at other jokes and say "Why would priest and a rabbi go to a Zoo together"?

He did do that with a crocodile's jar and yeah he lived. Fair enough. He did put himself into dangerous situations though.

Totally agree, he seemed to have quite some love for animals and did not torture them. Even more he understood when he made mistakes and blamed himself when he got bitten by a snake or killed by a stingray.

Custom chainmail. It's different then shark chainmail. I do a midevil reenactment and the chainmail that we can make floats when spread out. They use a steel I'm talking aluminum. It could prevent a stab from a stingray. You don't know what you are talking about Alpha.
Awesome, we get it, you have a chainmail...now shut up. Talk about Irwin without your chainmail. Open a thread about your chainmail in the OTF and please, please get banned.

What's so 'midevil' about it? Why isn't it fully-evil? What are the terms of its categorization?
Please tell me.

Why would you want me to get banned? I'm not doing anything wrong am I? I'm simply discussing the implicitions of Steve having chainmail that could have saved his life. Of course it would have been more approipate to wear had he been swimming with sharks but o well stuff happens. My reply was directed at Alpha who said I didn't know what I was talking about, the reality is I do. I probably know more about chainmail then most people should know.
I honestly don't like your eager attitude to ban me. I don't see why you would want to do that, according to the rules I have read I haven't broken any so what's the angle you are going after. If I'm doing something wrong could you perhaps pm?
Ya Krunk'd Fool, midevil is a recogiznized time period. It's like saying the Middle Ages. So it actually has nothing to do with evil it's just a catch phrase.

Yeah, that's why I said you should get banned, you know, break the rules and get banned. That would be funny. Go, go...do it.
Man, you are not the smartest bread in the poolhall, are you? Look up midevil in the dictionary. Then come back and admit your mistake.
Also, lets now talk how having Superman's powers would have saved Irwin's life...that's a thing that has to be considered as well.

I don't think it would have made much of a difference; what if the stingray was made out of Kryptonite? Being Superman wouldn't have been much of a benefit, on the contrary...

Despite Kharma's thread, I kind of like these new things. I still can't decide if they're real or not, though...
