I don't understand this, Katelovespirates...how in the world can "Ted" honestly think that we'd fall for that...come on...the compass is SOOO pointing to Jack....when I first saw the movie...that was my impression...so that's what they want the audience to think/know....the compass points to Jack..there is no indication that it is pointing to Will...that'a a load of crap....and how do we know that this is really "ted" posting on KTTTC...come, on...he's a busy, important man..would he really take time out of his schedule to bother with a silly little ol' messageboard....I think this is a hoax...someone pretending to be Ted...I don't believe it for one minute...

See the thing is....what if the writers WANT us to think that the compass points to what they want most? when in fact they could turn it round on us at the end....

NOOOOOOOOO i didnt mean it was pointing east i meant it was pointing to JACK!!!!!!! thats what Ted said. i dont know if i believe it was really him, but apparantly they released this bit on the compass because they felt everyone had gotten unduly confused by it...
and what Ted said was, the compass was clearly pointing to Jack, and the compass actually points at what you want most at that moment... aka, it was NOT pointing at jack because liz just wanted to know something from him, or because liz wanted to be a pirate, it was pointing to him because AT THAT MOMENT, she actually wanted him.

Sorry, I was freaking out again....cuz we all know that compass is pointing to Jack..where these people can claim that it is in fact pointing to Will is beyond me..they are grasping at straws...it makes no sense...they (KTTTC) want us to prove our theories about Jack and Liz...and when we do point out all the obvious clues...we are totally ignored...but they have nothing substaintial to back up their Will/Liz theories...except for what happened in POTC 1 - that show is in the past..the trilogy is moving forward..and sorry...but there was no chemistry between Will and Liz in that movie either....IMO...

This would explain why she is so hurt when she is betrayed by Jack..she was doing it all to save Jack and he totally betrayed her when it came to Will.
So this is why she then betrays him back by "punishing Jack for betraying will"..in other words betraying her..so she gets him back
She is QUITE Jack's little pirate... thats why he was so turned on
hats why it was the selfish act..it wasnt because of Will..it was to get Jack back for betraying her feelings..she did it for her own selfish reasons..not to save will at all IMO.
If she was doing it to save Will and everyone else then it wouldn't have been a selfish act at all..it would have been doing the wrong thing for the most honorable cause...which is the furthest away from selfish one person can get..she was doing it to selfishly get Jack back like the little pirate she truly is in her heart
and I dont think she is crying because it didn't give her the feeling she wanted it to...she was crying becuase she acted like a pirate ...but she did it to the one person she wants MOST in this world and she only realized/accepted this AFTERWARD...and now she wants "what she wants most in this world BACK"
