Ah, I see. And yours is not, eh? Odd... considering how you haven't anything to back it up. Nothing in the movie indicates that Yoda is a superior swordsman. Or a Force user. And, we do know that Palpatine fought smarter than Yoda - so how does this equate to Yoda winning?

It doesn't.

Of course you don't.

And both can "slice".

My point would have as much validity as yours, considering how you have nothing to indicate that Yoda would have won against Sidious on even ground. Nothing but assumptions.

Logical assumptions, unless of course you're going to parade around with your "Well Sidous put his saber away" theory. In regards to Yoda winning, I specifically mentioned a fight on even ground, meaning Sidious' tricks wouldn't do him much good. And Yoda most likely winning on even ground is more logical than anything you've said, otherwise Sidious wouldn't have had to gain the unfair the upper ground, if he could take Yoda.

My theory is far logical than Yoda disarming him, pwning him with his own lightning, and then jumping away for absolutely no reason - as the script originally had in mind. Wonder why they cut it...

Similarly, I could easily say that logical deduction indicates that Sidious would WTFpwn Ragnos, due to all the hype about Palpatine's abilities - whereas Ragnos is just the uber of Ancient Sith.

You, actually, have no basis (whereas I do) for an argument that Ragnos > Sidious.

If ya think you do, lol, let's see it. 🙂

Sidious's tricks? Is he pulling a rabbit out of his hood or something?

He fought smarter. He's smarter than Yoda - and as we've seen - intelligence can be an extremely important factor in a fight. And, as I said, nothing to indicate that Yoda is superior to him in anything.

And Yoda most likely winning on even ground is more logical than anything you've said, otherwise Sidious wouldn't have had to gain the unfair the upper ground, if he could take Yoda.

Okay. Tell me where Yoda got the advantage in their little duel in the office or on the podium.

Again, considering the fact that Sidious didn't have his saber on him, or maybe he was hiding him, it's logical to assume that Yoda disarmed him and Sidious used some offensive force powers to gain the higher ground.. And with Ragnos, I'll love to argue that .

Aww, poor Darth Sexy is getting pwned by Escape...I gotta get me some popcorn for this.

i really think yoda is better than Sidious and could beat him... if sidious could beat yoda in the first place, he wouldve never tried to escape from him

Consider their intent. Palpatine attempted to flee because his plan had succeeded. In the long term, the Jedi lost and Palpatine won. The Republic was dead, and the Jedi Order was in shambles.

And, yet, the most powerful of the Jedi came and wanted to settle things in an old fashioned showdown. Why would Sidious want to take the risk, if he could avoid it? He tried to flee because there was a strong chance that Yoda was capable of beating him.

Yoda, likewise, came in to fight because he knew Palpatine won. He knew that Palpatine outwitted him, outsmarted him, and killed off the Republic. Yoda confronted Palpatine because it was a last resort, and that he hoped - if Palpatine would be killed - that they could somehow save the day.

If Yoda is better than Palpatine at all - it is not by much. Meaning, no matter what - in any environment - Sidious would give Yoda one hell of a fight.

Yoda, however fled, because he knew he couldn't win. Sidious fought smarter, had the advantage of offensive Force powers, and - in the end - could summon Stormtroopers.

They are equal.

yeah thier equal. what about yoda in his prime, albet he wouldn't be as wise but would he have a stronger connection to the force?

About Sidious having the advantage of offensive force powers, I disagree. Sidious can't really do anything to Yoda (granted Yoda doesn't take an arrogant attitude like the time they fought and take it easy). Yoda can at least force push Sidious.
