Y'know what? I'm a teenager of today. And I'm insulted. I worked my heart out all last year to get into Honors classes (cause if I don't, I don't get into college, and I'm working in McDonald's in ten years) and now I'm working my heart out to stay in them. I don't whine, I don't complain at all (unless I'm making a point, like right now) because if I didn't know it was for my own good, I wouldn't be doing it. It's all pessimistic stereotyping in the media. Sure there are kids like that, but I know plenty adults that are worse than the worst of the kids in my grade. And there are kids in my grade--certainly better kids than me--who are good people, good individuals who are just as well-adjusted as the kids were back when you were one of them. Kids who get by just fine without porn, and don't do anything to get punished by their parents. Kids who volunteer to do work around the community, without their parents forcing them. Kids who are smart, funny, healthy, who give blood, who understand the problems in the world, who have political views, who look to the future of the world.

Of course I have attitude. But, maybe my dad shouldn't be telling me that I will fail at everything I ever try to accomplish, when so far I've succeeded. Just last week. I was going into highschool--all Honors classes!--and he's telling me that I'm a failure. I bawled my eyes out. I think I've earned a little attitude.
And why shouldn't we have general disregard for the society who whines about how we're bad kids, and even if it's true how this is our fault and not yours for raising us wrong.
