Did you even read the rest of the post? It is not the only scan. Namor, for example, has easily lifted things that Ben has been struggling with.
The whole incident was retconned in Marvel Age Fantastic Four #9 anyway. Thing punched Namor out of water there.

No. Not the whole one. But some parts of it have been retconned in other comics too. It happens all the time when writers want to make their story match a bit more, or change something that just wouldn't work in the more serious stories of this time.
