And if anyone's ever looking for a quality debate partner, there's a reason that certain people have won tournies. Scoob, Jinzin, Blair, Leo and Kahn....all did a helluva job getting their titles.
There's certainly great debators without tourney titles (C-Master, others who have done well in tournies like Khell and longpig, Draco, Mungi, etc.) but that's always a pretty good benchmark.

And honestly, anymore it's become much more charatcer-specific. Early on, we could have general "experts" at comics (and we did). But the forum's so large now, and much more knowledgable overall, that even veteran debators have to find their niches. For example, take me anywhere at-or-above Skyfather, and I'm basically guessing and going off of what I've read here. Thus, you'd never see me in an abstract discussion or pheonix thread...I'd get my ass handed to me.

nowadays, when i'm on, i find myself in gs's corner more often than not because so many people seem to have made it their personal life's goal to take him down. of course, he's more than capable of holding his own, (in fact i think gs LOVES it!) but arguing with or against gs is always a good time. he has some of the BEST one-liners and implied flames . . . 😆
i remember when YOU first came on, yahman, right around the same time olympian came in. for the longest time i always associated the 2 of you for some reason. i had some good go 'rounds with oly too, but though heated at times, he's cool, and i've come to learn you can MORE than hold your own -- especially when it comes down to the possible 'science' behind something. and damn, when you and whirly got together, all hell always seemed to break loose! always fun reads. 🙂
Yeah youre right, i used to team up with Olympian quite a lot back in the day. I was a bit obsessed with strength levels, and he knew everything there was to know about Marvel higher tier, scraps. There was also sometimes a bit of banter , which u know i love. Yeah i've just mentioned DEMI on another thread. Like you he was always good at illustrating a characters good points, rather than trying to attack the opponents weaknesses. His answers very rarely had many flaws, so ones responses required a lot of thinking. I think he's probably the only guy, who could make a half arguement that a Magneto, Thanos team up could beat the TOAA, Presence, L.T. and Spectre at the same time.
