It's the story about George Reeves, the actor who played Superman in the early20th century. Like what, the 40's, 50's.

It's about the conspiracy that was his suicide. Ben Affleck plays George Reeves a.k.a. "Superman"

He dons the Superman suit but i don't think they show it cause they can't or something.

I saw the trailers for it.Looks like a great flick, cant wait to see it.I hope they someday do a film on the coverup murder of mariyn monroe as well which was also ruled a suicide.

Yea, I'd definitely watch Hollywoodland. It looks good. George Reeves suicide has so many holes in it cause his death really didn't make sense. Maybe the movies will prove something.

Here is my conclusion. When he started the series as Superman he already looked old and overweight. It seemed that critics exposed their criteria about his Superman and for this the actor couldn't live with it. I vote for the one before him, but as you know I'm so different from the rest.

I have not looked into it much but from what I have heard is there is a lot of questionable evidence that it was a suicide, like I remember hearing once that the gun was found in his right hand and he was left handed or something like that.

It was frustration because he loved playing S but he wasn't the appropriate for the part. Ask for detective comics.

First of all, this is a fictionalized story of a fictional private investigator hired by George Reeves’ mother to look into the son’s death. The film does use Reeves’ biographer as a consultant, so the aspects that are portrayed about Reeves’ life are more or less truthful.

The Adventures of Superman aired on television from 1952 - 1958, 104 total episodes, of which 52 were in black and white and 52 were in color. You do get to see Affleck, who is playing Reeves wearing both Superman costumes used during filming.

For the black and white filming, they used a light gray instead of blue and dark brown instead of red for better contrast detail. Of course for the color filming they used the standard red and blue.

The film does show some of the filming the show process, not much, but does recreate one famous near disaster, when Reeves was being filmed flying using a wire harness and the wires break and he crashes 12 feet to the floor. After that he refused to use the wiring harness and they had to come up with a new way to film his flight scenes.

Reeves did not like the part, he felt it was beneath him and only did it because he could not find any other parts. He was out of work and depressed about his career at the time of his death and the film explores many possible scenarios as to how he possibly died. It leaves it up the viewer to form their own opinion as to which one it was.

It is a good film, but do not go and see it thinking you will see much Superman footage, he is seen in the costume a total of 8 minutes or less.

I wish they air it once more...not enough for me to buy it. I had a job when they did.

If you have TVLand, keep your eyes open, now and then they will play an episode in the early morning hours 4 to 5 am time slots.

OK Thanks!
