Duane Chapman made the statement, saying he had an officer with him to survey the scene. His crew was there only to check a finger pointing in the direction of the criminal. When they got there and found out it was him, Dog made a deal with the officer to take him in under the charges against him. He got his man because he worked with an officer to take down the perp. Now, 3 years late, the Mexican government dicides its in their best interest to have Dog arrested. I think there was something in the background working for this to happen. Wonder how much more money was offered.

fishy has a point. international law, however backwards, was broken.
i disagree that he deserves what he's getting, but he certainly must have known the law, and the risk he was taking. its still bullshit, but technically there is no foul im afraid.but then again tabby has a point. its a crap system, and as the joke that it is, they should be ashamed of it and not make their lack of willingness to capture and punish criminals so publicised.
my opinion, ultimately is- screw mexico, and screw their petty and ineffectual law. i hope our government can finally use its power of illegally bullying other nations into submission for a virtuous purpose and free dog
I wouldn't mind if this was the way the world worked, where anybody could just move into another country and arrest criminals, but there is a reason why cops from one country are not allowed to work in other country's... Bounty Hunters are illegal, he shouldn't have done it. The US should negotiate prisononer exchange with Mexico if they want, but they shouldn't allow people to just go into another country and arrest them, no matter what the crime is.
Sorry but we have borders for a reason. Besides how would you feel if a Mexican cop suddenly came into the US and arrested somebody who lived in the US?

the black and white of it is, there are people who think if they can keep from getting caught, they can do anything they want and then go to another country to hide from the law. there should be a system put in place in order to apprehend these creeps when they do so. unfortunately, Dog thought he had things covered when he didnt. he was arrested for an error, but he still caught the slime that was sitting about, living it up. he is on house arrest, and he is still bounty hunting in hawaii. trail is scheduled to see if he should serve time in mevican jail for the crime of "kidnapping" (thats what bounty hunting is in mexico). the best outlook for this would him serve in states jail. here he could serve from 6 months to 4 years. in mexico, well you know how bad it is there, so we wont get into that. we can only hope for the best.

If you do something wrong in one country you shouldn't be arrested by another country oficial, unless of course the country's agree that they can arrest that particulair person.
What's illegal in one country isn't always illegal in the other, and sometimes country's just don't exchange prisoners or people living there for good reasons. I don't care if the guy deserved it or not, Dog broke the law simple as that.
Nice that the other guy was arrested and everything but he broke the law and he should be punished for it. Simple as that.
I agree with Fishy, he broke the law and should be prosecuted accordingly. He might have had good intentions (which he did) but he went about it the wrong way, does the end justify the means? Thats the actual question. He had to have known the risks of doing what he did, and he decided to take that risk and do it anyways. He gambled and he lost, thats the way it goes. Is it stupid? Yes, but its the law unfortunately.

Exactly, but Mexico has some ****ed up laws, ey.
You should be aware of the judicial system of whatever country you're visiting.
