Just slashing will only stretch he flesh. It doesn't resist, it gives.

The problem is, and it has been stated over and over in here, Logan would not have the strength required to actually push is blades through many of these top tier opponents that he has supposedly cut and stabbed.
Take a long blad, or spear or fence poste, and try to stab down into sand, even. Sand, loose, shifting, disconnected.
Stab down, and even that will stop an object from penetating very far without a lot of force.
