BIPOLAR THREAD.....LMAO!!! I know right we do have are mood swings!!! LOL!
I dont know....but it's pretty interesting!!
Yes u need to read it...it mirrors a certain ship we all like to call Jack/Liz!!!
The opera opens as the Dutchman sails into a bay in Norway for his periodic chance at finding the woman whose love will deliver him from his fate. He encounters a local ship captain, Daland, who has an eligible daughter and he offers Daland treasure in exchange for permission to court her. Senta, the daughter, is already intrigued with the legend of the Dutchman, even before having met him. When she does meet the captain she pledges her faith to him, determined to save him. But Senta's romantic longings are countered by her existing bond to Erik, a local huntsman who continues to woo her. Thinking Senta has betrayed him, the Dutchman sails off. Senta throws herself into the sea saying, "Here I stand, faithful to you until death." They are then seen rising to heaven together.
My take on it.
Like the Dutchman from the Opera, Jack sails in to Port Royal, he meets Liz. It also says that Senta is already intrigued with the legend of the Dutchman, even before having met him. Just like Liz is intrigue by Capt Sparrow just before even meeting him. After Senta meets the Capt she is determined to save him from his fate, just like Liz is determine to uncover that good streak in Jack. Liz tells Jack that she has faith in him, just like Senta pledges her faith in the Dutchman and is determine to save him.
It is said that Sentas romantic longings are countered by her existing bond to Erik. Just like Liz and her romantic longing to Will. Erik is a local huntsman that continues to woo her, Senta clearly has feelings and cares for Erik. Just like Liz's feelings towards Will.
I would so pay money to see this opera.
Interesting theory on how it relates to J/E/W.
Maybe Elizabeth 'dying' has nothing to do with the Dutchman, but is instead linked to something else Jack does...oooh, or else, maybe she thinks she is saving Will, because she hasn't figured out what she wants, but then Tia brings her back so she can be with Jack...and then Tia and Will go off together.
