Hayden vs. Romeo

so, remember when everyone was flipping out at the thought of leonardo dicaprio playing the part of anakin? in retrospect, do you still think he would have been a bad choice? would he have been able to take lucas' wooden dialogue and given it at least some sense of emotion? or is lucas' script the type of crap that the greatest of academy award winning actors couldnt make convincing?

note: i didnt ask who is better looking, so fangirls need not reply, unless your opinion is based on acting ability rather than who is prettier.

so you are given a time machine and a mind control device.
you are able to go back in time and program GL to pick one actor.
either you could refuse and keep it as is, or you can use this new
power and force GL to pick leo. sorry, no other choices.

i think a good film to base his ability on would be gangs of new york, given his dark character, as opposed to the generic prettyboy he plays in most other rolls.

oh.. i remember now.. i hated him because of Titanic.. its the only movie i've ever watched that he stars in...

yeah, this isnt about who was in teh crappiest film. ability...ability....ability.

i hated most of dicaprio's rolls, but then again thats really the fault of the film.
after all, i forgave ewan for molin rouge.

I thought Dicaprio was good in 'gangs' and 'catch me if you can', havn't seen The Aviator, The Departed looks good though.

One role im glad he didnt get though was Patrick Bateman

Leo's got more credibility as an actor...people brush him off just cuz he's got a pretty face. When he was younger, he played a struggling author in This Boy's Life with Rob Deniro.

And I have no complaints about Titanic. I do have complaints, however, of Hayden's acting.

Not a huge fan of DiCaprio, especially with Titanic, but I think he would have given more emotion/credibility/sympathy than Hayden. Did like The Beach though.

See, I think Hayden was fine.

He acted the way that GL told him to, and played the character the way GL wanted him played.

Another actor may have done the same emotions/lines in different ways, but GL would have made sure that whatever point was supposed to come across to the audience still did.

So, I guess I'm saying that no matter who played Anakin it would be mostly the same character.

Dicaprio's a great actor, would have been interesting.

Personally, I'd have liked Ryan Phillipe.

hmmm. I'd have to stick with Hayden. I think had Leo stared in it, it would have ended up a "Leo film". Not that he's a superb actor, but just cause of the way he acts. I think Hayden did a good job, i felt what he was feeling before he vocalized his emotions. The only part i thought sounded dumb was the way he said, "what have i done?!" Just didnt feel it.

I'm satisfied with Hayden-Poo. Now if you want to put Jessica Alba in for Padem, haha, nah im kidding.

Hayden. It needed to be someone relatively unknown, in my opinion. I actually don't think Hayden did that bad a job considering what he had to work with...

I'm more interested about how the chemistry would of worked between Leo and Ewan/Natalie/Ian - fun to imagine, but i'd stick with Hayden.
