Accually u got it a little mixed up. DC has it's own version of Marvel's adamantium and it's called promethium.
And I don't think anyone can punch through a 'mountain' of adamantium... so does that make it better? Perhaps...
Nope, I am talking about Marvel's Promethium.
Marvel Comics
In Marvel Comics, promethium is a magical metal found only in Belasco's dimension known as Otherplace. Removal of the promethium to another dimension will cause Limbo to vanish. The heart of Limbo was once sought by the supervillain Doctor Doom as an inexhaustible energy source for his nation of Latveria, it it currently in the possession of Darkoth.

Powers/Abilities: Death Metal is immensely strong and powerful--his power source is a combination of magical energy and the nuclear power produced by his cold fusion cardiac device. Composed of a magical metal, "Promethium," he is able to reshape his form as will, forming any number and type of bladed and ballistic weapons.

In Excalibur # 39 (July, 1991), although he starts out with his more familiar armor, Doom eventually takes the Promethium Armor from the mystic realm of Limbo when he uses the soulsword of Illyana Rasputin (Magik), currently in the possession of Kitty Pryde. He battles Demons, the Avengers and Excalibur, in an attempt to turn all of Limbo into promethium alloy, valued as an inexhaustable energy source, for later mining. It looks remarkably like the armor pictured in FF #350 and #352, but the promethium armor is a mystical armor given only to he who weilds the soulsword, and prior to this issue the soul sword was stuck in a rock on Muir Island, near the Excalibur HQ.
