I love you and your theories and your mind that comes up with those theories! 🙂

I'm not making it up lol its just the basic pattern that we see with pretty much every successful movie/story based around an important character movie 2/3 are one story so Jack's still not finished yet when it comes to Liz. so I dont buy what Ted says about Jack's story ending here..oh no he's only just gained the elixir..now he needs to return home with it and face the consequences..😂

IMO they cant keep Jack the one who never changes..because it will get dull...they didnt keep him the one who never changes..he transformed as a character and people didnt hate the change they loved it (1 billion)

I agree jack HAS changed...thats clear enough to see...but i totally agrr with you when you say he biggest steps are STILL to be taken in 3...

But again, i dont think this will be total change.

I have to ask though....how much 'change' are we talking for jack here?

I think one of the main themes for 2 and 3 is change...which is obvious as every character is changing and going down another path...its almost like everyone of them is defying how the first film made them out.....

but i find a hard time finding where will fits into this change (but i think that will come in 3, whereas the other characters are already halfway there).

Elizabeth is changing as she is becoming the opposite of what she was (shes being set free from her corset as i have stated before)

Jack is becomming the opposite of what he SHOULD be
(hes a pirate...and yet time and time again we have heard the term 'good man'.)

Norrington is the COMPLETE opposite to what he was.
(instead of upholding the law he is going against it)

Even ragetti is paying for his sins
(even resorting to the bible!)

Will however is difficult.....hmmmm...

we all dont make up these theories. these are patterns that we see and put them together and bingo u got urself a theorie worth explaining.

now KTTC( i mention these ppl alot lol) now they make up shit, and they should also eat it bc they say things that dont make sense. Either they see the pattern and dont want to admit that its jack/liz, or its pure idiotsy.

I think its both. I see some only some ppl in favor of jack/liz and they get treated batdly and kicked like they did with lovelyone. Some i see who support liz/jack but ending up saying its never gonna be jack/liz. wtf. Who are these ppl...they are a total embarsment to disney.

T.Maria..I sense that he character of Will is about to become a lot more interesting because his basis isn't going to just be his father..He's going to join forces with Davy Jones and the EITC..IMO he's about to become a consequence to Jack for gaining the elixir (Liz)..you know what I find disturbing?

Jack is at step 10 basically He's about to have villains chasing him
because he gained his reward

Will ends at step 6/7 he's preparing to enter the lair of his "greatest enemy"

Singapore = Jack's second home..his "lair" if you will

coincidence??

I don't think so. Will now sees Jack as his greatest enemy

and the greatest enemy is the one they usually try to defeat no matter what.

Jack is about to have a villain persuing him and Will is about to hunt down his greatest enemy...will is no longer a boring character lol

stupid freakin KTTC!

Learning something and ending differently is the whole point of a hero's journey. In short:

The hero is introduced in his ordinary world, where he receives the
call to adventure. He is reluctant at first but is encouraged by
the wise old man or woman to cross the first threshold, where he
encounters tests and helpers. He reaches the innermost cave, where
he endures the supreme ordeal. He seizes the sword or the treasure
and is pursued on the road back to his world. He is resurrected and
transformed by his experience. He returns to his ordinary world with
a treasure, boon, or elixir to benefit his world."

IMO it would have been very stupid for them to keep Jack the character who never changes..or follows any arc.

the only thing I see that benifits Jack and makes him happiest, brave and strong is Elizabeth...the ultimate prize to return to his ordinary world with..the one that he was rather unhappy in IMO to start with.

all hero's start where they are in the ordinary world but something is missing and then the question is raised and they are placed into the special world(whats missing in their life) where they feel uneasy and scared(we see this with Jack "is it me or is the captain acting strange...er".."somethings got Jack vexed" Liz))..and the rest of he story is basicaly about embracing the special world..usually after seeing the supernatural helper..and in Jack's case is fear is making Liz an obligation in his life...the adventure only starts after they have seen the supernatural helper..and we see that happen..he then crosses the first threshold (step 5) and finally accepts to take Liz in his life but he's no where near emotionlly ready to gain her yet he needs to learn how and he does (curiosity scene) and he needs some emotional wakeup calls (jar of dirt)then it all adds to the moment where he takes her..."kraken scene"

beckett said it best "jack sparrow must change with the new world or perish"

He's gonna have to change in some way or as a pirate like he is he will perish forever...and the cange is clear as day by movie 2. Its Elizabeth.

there is often a "herald" that "warns" the hero of the change to come into their lives..the special world is to be revealed to them..the thing that was missing from their ordinary world..the thing that makes them complete as a person

and in PotC..it appears to be the compass for Jack and liz..because when they see what its pointing to/pointing to and from? They dont like it..they feel uncomfortable and uneasy at first

and Liz was totally stuck on this uneasy stage for most of the movie.

Actually No i dont think the herald is the compass...the compass is just there to show you what the special world is to Liz and Jack..and it shows you the question raised..that their lives they way they live them are not what they are satisfied with. something is missing and the compass shows you that. it seems..the thing you want most..and it also shows you that they fear the thought of the special world

the herald is the one who calls the hero to adventure..with Jack it was will asking him to help save Liz (which he refused)..and with Liz it was Jack himself asking her to be with him basically(and she refused) and with Will it was Jack asking for help(which he refused)
