Closing Threads

Well we wouldn't want to delete the thread where we actually vote if they should delete it or not...

y should they close them when they get to 100????? 😠 lot of them r still active, and they seem to get to 100 really fast...

Once a thread is closed you can still read the thread. It won't disappear. And you can always start a new thread on the same topic.

i kno this...but wats the point of having to start a thread over again every time it reaches 100...

If they are way off topic and over 100 posts then they should be closed. If someone wants to re-open a topic then that will probably start back on topic.
If they have drifted to another topic and you wish to continue on that topic then quite simply open a new thread for that topic.

No, if they are off topic and it's a topic you want to discuss, just open a new thread for that Topic. I think it's OK for them to deviate for a while, but once they hit 100 then why not just close them?

because if people r replying to it constantly then its obviously a topic that they WANT to talk about, even if the topic has changed...

But its a lot of reading for a completely new poster to catch up on.

Then open a thread for that topic, if I saw a thread title that I wouldn't like, I wouldn't read or participate, if that thread then changed subject to something I had an interest in then I wouldn't know, if someone opened a thread for the new subject then I could partake in the thread.

they dont HAVE to read it, they can read newer ones that have less in them and the people posting in the old ones that have a lot can continue posting in that one...

i think that if people interested in talking about something off topic in a thread they won't be interested anymore in talking about it in a special topic for it...
