Both, in some significant way.

1. Some things just don't have to be said at all and that could definately save some asses.
2. Telling the truth when necessary (which is always, unless you vow to keep your mouth shut) is a very good thing because lies, especially the "big" lies people have bottled up inside will gradually eat them away.

Yea, there are obvious times when not to do it, like if you are going to get a REAL hurting for doing so (I meant physical).

The truth is good because you get tired of silly secrets that begin to make you live the secret. By telling the truth and not being afraid of it, it gives you courage and lets a big amount off of your chest, no matter the reaction.

True but maybe it isn't right to hit/slap someone if they lie. 😬 I could be wrong.

No, I meant if saying to someone how you felt would get you in physical trouble, then I could understand a bit.
