Thanos couldn't beat Drax. Franklin as a child defeated Mephiso. Thanos without the IG wouldn't last two minutes in Mephisto's realm.

thanos doesnt seem to fear mephisto much....and Thanos could kill mephisto is he wanted to, but instead he likes keeping him around as his flunky.

Thanos lost to drax as a NOTED plot device...god damn...

And Franklin Richards still dies, Thanos is too smart.
