Risk taking

Ever do something insanely stupid just for the adrenaline rush?

I nearly died riding my bike today, and so did my friend. we run reds, pedal fast as we can downhill, weave between people and bumps on the sidewalk, and don't brake on sharp turns. You gotta take those like a motorcycle and just lean into it.

Say what you did and why you did it. I did what I did because I just don't give a shit if I die. If I want the rush that comes with something horribly risky, I'm going to do it.

I also don't understand why some people worry so much. Why not take a risk when you have the chance?

What do you ride, carnal?

I have a '76 Harley-Davidson Fatboy.

Rushes are very cool and make life exciting but there comes a point where it becomes an obsession and that is not healthy.

I went surfing yesterday in some typhoon-generated swell. Nothing ridiculously big, but still pretty sizey. I've surfed bigger, but I still got a quickening of the heart as each set approached.

Why do I do it? Well, I don't do it for the adreneline from the risk, but rather the joy of the ride when I get a good one. Any one, actually.

All the risks I take - whether they are when I am surfing, cliff-jumping, skating, diving, or mountain-biking - I do it for the fun, rather than the thrill.

I have mixed feelins on it lets just say that. DMB

You need to take risks every now and then otherwise life will be boring.

I believe the expression goes...

'Risk little, Win little'

I too lack a fear of death but what does concern me is the thought of something tragic happening to me such as being paralyzed or losing my sight...etc..etc.

Personally I'd rather be dead, life is hard enough when you're healthy, no need for the extra added burdens.

I wouldn't say I do insanely stupid things well because they are just that, stupid. I take calculated risks.
