With respect to the character and his fans - I think this movie will bomb. It shouldn't be made - the studios are really starting to reach with these comic movies. Just trying to make a quick profit that's all.
Namor is a better property than Aquaman, to hit the big screen.
If Blade and Constantine can get a movie (and sequels), Marvel's first super human can as well.

That may be true, but does the concept on a Namor movie sound like it will attract people - Blade & Constantine are a bit different from other comic book movies due to the horror element

Depends which way they take it. If they stayed true to the comic to a T, I'd agree with you. However, I doubt they will.
I'm sure they'll modernize in a way that'll fit today's audience.
