That's the opposite.
He used the armor's power to become invisible and do a surprise attack on Shiva but her abilities allowed to spot him whatsoever...
He chosen to save the armor's power for two reasons:
1) Being invisible was a waste of energy against Shiva.
2) He understood that he couldn't stand a chance without having the armor at full power.
That tells us that Shiva was way more dangerous to him than Superman.
