125 Arrested in Child Porn Roundup

(CNN) -- Federal officials arrested more than 125 people Wednesday on charges of subscribing to a Web site that depicted children as young as infants engaged in sexual activities with adults.

"Today, we are taking steps against child pornography," U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie told reporters in Newark.

Fourteen of the suspects appeared Wednesday afternoon before a magistrate judge in Newark.

The arrests stem from Operation Emissary, which immigration and customs officials launched in New Jersey and extended to more than 21 other states.

It focused on a Web site that offered subscribers access to child porn videos and pictures, Christie and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special-Agent-in-Charge Kyle Hutchins said in a written statement.

The Web site warned customers that subscribing to the site was illegal and urged them to be discreet, the statement said.( Watch report on virtual porn - 3:15 )

Officials said the suspects, who include more than a dozen convicted sex offenders, subscribed to the Web site in late 2005 and early 2006.

More arrests were expected, and Christie warned anyone involved in Internet child porn to be wary.

"You are not anonymous," he said. "We can and we will find you."

Officials would neither identify nor say who operated the Web site.

Christie said such pornography sites typically rake in $2 million per month.

Among the suspects was a former counselor at a Bible camp and a longtime Boy Scout leader and middle-school sports coach, the officials said.

Kew-kew.

Good work

Awesome. But without a website to watch, where are pedophiles going to get their dose of naked children? Will they actually o out and molest the children themselves?

A good point of discussion, and not one solved easily. But the main issue is that kids get abused to provide content for these sites as well. It has to be stopped somehow, and we have to start somewhere. Hiding behind a 'it's going to be done anyhow' mentality isn't helping in fighting child pornography. Tell it to a parent who's kid got raped on the internet, 'hey sorry, at least it was done in a proper bed, and not some back alley downtown'.
The offenders need to be chased and prosecuted as much as possible with all means available, if only for the chance of some seeking professional help. Visitors of these sites must be tracked down, arrested and forced to undergo mental analysis, therapy and monitoring, and possibly castration.
These are innocent kids we are talking about, allowing them be prayed on by sexually distorted sickos is not an option.

If this was all faked and no children were used then you would have a point. Children were used and forced however and that makes this a good thing, not a bad thing.

Kudos to the law enforcement agency's involved in this bust.

They should strap those pedophile bastards to Humvees in Iraq as shielding for our troops. IMO.

Remember operation human shield, protect our tanks and planes as well

Thank god, I thought they supported child porn for a while there 😂

Yeah, it was ****ing close today...

I never said this was a bad thing, it's excellent. But they sure as hell didnt catch everyone who watched the site(the site made 2 million a month for crap's sake), there are still a whole lot of sick people out there with no release(excuse the pun) for their depraved ways.

Yea, you can catch all the pedophiles you want who run and watch websites, but the point is that the damage is already done. You need something to prevent it from happening in the first place. If a pedophile has a website to visit, he won't go and rape a child. One less child to go through such an ordeal.

But another child has all ready... the one on the site. The fact that that child's suffering provides 'entertainment' for a greater number of phedo's compared to the damage they could individually do to a greater amount of kids doesn't justify anything.
The whole abuse, no matter the scale, has to be stopped. You can't just allow a victim-to-viewer ratio, where would you draw the line?

Faked child porn might do that, on the other hand big punishments might also convince people to stop watching and keep their pants up.

Exactly, that's where "Operation Human Shield" comes in, if that wouldn't work for a deterrent, I am sure other means can be found.

Hmm... photo-realistic CGI kiddie porn? The entrepreneur in me says I could make millions... but it would probably be considered immoral...

Fixed.

Technically no children are getting hurt, in fact it's protecting children. CGI kids don't have feelings.

Doesn't mean it's not immoral.
