What pre-tell did the gear do for him. Dont remember. There powers were flucuating. With tonys tech knowledge, I see him pulling a few wins. I haven't read OWAW in a while, where the hell was Batman when this went down anyway?

Heralds power fluctuate all the time. Does that mean Tony gets a few wins against them as well?

He gets 1 win if it's a weak probe and Tony gets lucky.

Normal probe throws Tony into the sun.

OWAW was how many comics. There was no history of the sort behind the probes. If you fluccuate and you've only been in five or six comics then thats in no way near a herald like SS who has a prior history to base feats off of.
