At least Clive Barker is writing the screenplay so it probably will stay somewhat true to the original. Then again, Barker's main interest in this project is the bigger budget available, which will mostly be used on better effects and gore, and I don't think the story really needs to rely on those aspects.
In the best case scenario this remake will be a tuned up and more graphic version of the original movie, but a bit redundant anyway. It doesn't needs to be remade and no remake will gain the status of the first movie.
They also just might give pinhead a bigger part in this because of his popularity and that could ruin the whole movie.
will this never end?
i remember watching Hellraiser one rainy afternoon at a cinema in the city centre that only showed soft porn and horror flicks
i think it was 87 and what a year that was for great horror films
there was 3 people watching it....me,a dodgy looking guy and a down n out type who looked a bit like the tramp in the film
that made the film all the more unsettling for me
so to have a big budget version in a multiplex in a cinema full of your average cinema goer will not be the same Hellraiser for me
Its a remake too far
Im really mad about how many remakes there making its really annoying like i wish that directors could just make ther own scripts instead of remaking movies! i think that new directors should get noticed becuase seriously remakes are not needed to be done the originals are perfect! they always ruin the originals! eicpecially becuase there wont be as much gore!
hellraiser remake i think will be stupid becuase its clive barker again and also it was good for the original soo they dont have to do anything more to it!
i dont blame clive. he said that it would be done eventually, so he might aswell be a part of it.
if films are gonna be remade then the original writer should at least be a part of it, cause then you know the new twists etc are part of his idea and not some other knob just remaking the film how he thinks it should be done,
