The Thames, I think.

The Severn.

This thread is more like: "Ask a Brit" than European.

Well..it's Americans asking....not sure whether they know there's more than one country in Europe.

Nah, I am being mean.

They know France,...they hate them.

Maybe because The U.K. is the only country that matters in Europe? ermm

And maybe Germany... But they probably don't think it exists anymore... After they beat them.

You didn't beat the British, simply sent them into retreat... America never invaded Britain.

If the economy is bad, blame the Germans. If a war is started, blame the Germans. If you loose your keys, blame the Germans.

I agree, we can take some blame, it only makes us stronger...

See WW2 for reference

The majority of the answers have been British themed because the majority of the answerers are Brits.

I know we have members like you from Germany, Storm and Fire from Belgium, and Clovie from Poland, but there are more British members abound in here, you know?

Okay. Here's a German question: Why does everyone always associate Germany and poo-poo porn? Is that an unfair stereotype? While in the U.S. Army, I was stationed in Schweinfurt for 18 months, and I never heard a lot about it myself.

Do we all associate poo-poo porn with germans?

Not necessarily, but I've heard my share of information via word of mouth, movies, and other outlets of media. I'm asking if this is a gross generalization or not merely for clarification's sake.

A question for Belgium (Storm):

Is there a high tourist rate where you live? What would you recommend if I vacationed there?

I live in the Flemish Ardennes. It' s an area which offers some possibilities for the nature-lover and the more active tourist. Several walks and bicycle tracks have been traced out. Following them you come along little valleys and some small woods, where you find peace and quiet.

In Geraardsbergen, we have the "wall", a steep street paved with cobblestones, climbed every year by cyclists during the Tour of Flanders.

The capital of East Flanders is Ghent and much of its medieval architecture remained intact. Interesting highlights are the Saint Bavo Cathedral with the Ghent Altarpiece, the belfry, the Gravensteen castle, and the splendid architecture along the old Graslei harbour. The beguinages, as well as the belfry and adjacent cloth hall, are recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. Important museums in Ghent are the Museum of Fine Arts and the City Museum for Contemporary Art.

Culinary, Belgium offers in general a rich variety of local and foreign cuisine.

Tourists visiting Belgium will mostly go to Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven, Mechelen, Liege, Namur, Spa, Tournai and the coast.

Tourists visiting Belgium usual visit France, Germany or The Netherlands.... Who are you trying to kid Storm?.. 😛
