October 24: Tobe Hooper confirms CHAINSAW CHRONICLES
Tobe Hooper may have received nothing more than a courtesy credit in the new TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE films from New Line and Platinum Dunes, but a few projects on the horizon will solidify his extended future—and possible deeper involvement—with the saw saga. A little ways back, you may remember Fango reporting here on a scoop concerning the possible direct-to-DVD series (or television show) entitled THE TEXAS CHAINSAW CHRONICLES. During a recent interview over at Bloody Disgusting, Hooper confirms the project’s existence and states he’ll be acting as an executive producer on the endeavor. There’s also a hint at another big-screen Hewitt family romp (you don’t say!), as well as a tell-all book on the making of the original CHAINSAW! This last effort will reunite him with TCM co-scripter Kim Henkel, and together the two will pen a tome that the director promises will be a “view from the nucleus.”
What a busy fella.
Hooper’s latest episode of MASTERS OF HORROR, THE DAMNED THING kicks off season two of the series this Friday, October 27 at 10 pm.
