Nice! 😎 Excellent pics, Figured you might want company... 😮

haha welcome to the board Darc, didn't expect you to sign up

Yes, I had too, If I want to rant, I have to join, right?

haha pretty much, so rant on 🙂

I was thinking about his endurance, as you mentioned earlier (was it Alpha #87?), getting blasted and not being phased, maybe he just ignores the pain when he's berserk, or maybe he actually gets stronger the madder/crazier he gets. (KYLE SMASH!) LOL!

He actually told Northstar to shut up! I know most people'll hate me for saying this, but I can't stand Northstar! He's such an arrogant little jerk! At least Aurora has an excuse for her behavior, she's insane, Northstar's just stuck up. If she hadn't treated him so badly, I'd have liked to see them get back together, if for nothing else than to tick Northstar off...

I once had an idea about Kyle, Shard and lots of Lil' Holographic Mutant Gibney's, but sadly, that ain't gonna happen.

He could, would be a different take rather than just being another feral character.

Uhhh..no, I'm not a fan of Northstar either. Aurora is where it's at, but Northstar gets all the credit

Yeah they really just ended that pretty quick, and apparently in Shard's timeline, Kyle is quite a catch.

I just checked over the link to the "Blind Fury" Kyle v Logan story, it was pretty touching. It really shows Kyle as I remember him, a man constantly trying to prove that he's better than the animal everyone else thinks he is. Wyre, Wolverine, Sabertooth, most of Alpha Flight, X-Factor, Val Cooper, the writers, everyone looks at him as "Little Sabertooth", a murderous animal in a human package and that's not Kyle. He did pretty dang well holding his feral side off as long as he did, and he probably wouldn't have fallen so far if Weapon X hadn't sunk their claws into him. It sad that Marvel has thrown all of what he was away to create this pathetic little creature in the Weapon X stories. I can't even bear to read them.

I also liked the way Kyle was such a good person. I know that sounds funny, but he was, he was able to truly forgive both Wyre and Val for what they had helped turn him into, and he was always struggling to to what was right, despite his urges. He slipped sometimes, as we all do, but inside he was a good person, I think he still has some good in him, it's just been so suppressed by by his new "friends" it can't get out. He still cares about Aurora, even after all she did to him, and wants to protect her, she's the reason Weapon X was able to lure him in , to try to help her. I don't like the way he's portrayed now, but I still like the character, he's still my favorite, because I know what a great character he can be, given the right writer.

They're were several times, especially during the "Bloodlines" story, where Kyle wanted to die, to protect everyone else if his animal side ever resurfaced, he was portrayed as a noble but troubled man terrified of becoming the monster he once was and hurting more people. Now that I think about it, he was far better off as Wildheart. I preferred his appearance in X-Factor, and his childish personality, but he was a far deeper character as Wildheart. Even if he was a bit bulky and his costume had sleeves.... 😉

Exactally, Kyle's a great chracter Weapon X basically threw away any development he had grown. Even X-Factor I feel did the same thing, as they made him into a immature punk teenager. In Alpha Flight or even Weapon X he was never that immature. Still kinda funny to see him playing Mario Bros on N64 though.

I hope when he returns he was lose the vampire look, and possibly aid the new Omega Flight book.

Yeah, I wouldn't miss Nosferatu much either (I just hope they don't send him to Hell, he can't help what he does...Not like Creed.).. Maybe in X-Factor he was acting out his lost childhood while he had the chance...

I just hope he doesn't go into obsucurity. I'm sure one time or another the surviving past members of Alpha Flight will confront Omega Flight. Seeing as Kyle was part of the original team. He might have been doing that, but why ignore your highly skilled training from the likes of Nick Fury, Wolverine the the best in the world to be a skateboarding punk kid that usually got punk'ed himself?

For fun.

By ignoring things you learned that puts you and your teamates at risk of losing their lives? yeah no I don't see Kyle doing that, he's loyal.

True enough. I didn't think of it in that way. Truth be told my collection is so small I only have glimses of his ever changing personality, he didn't seem that differant when Aurora, Northstar and Puck came after him (X-Factor #116), but the next issue I have after that (#128) he was a goofy kid.

I remember in Alpha when he said he'd die before he'd let Alpha Flight down. Kyle might have been willing, but the writers were not...

Of course, with so many different people handling the characters the right hand doesn't always know what the left hand intended, like the connection with Sabretooth. Wolverine implied that he knew Kyle's "Old Man" in Marvel Comics Presents #51?, and Sabretooth was trying to mold him into a Mini-Me in X-Factor,...But I also have an issue somewhere where a fan wrote in and asked is Sabretooth was Kyle's father, and the answer was definitely not.

I was also looking through my old X-factor's and read the part where the writer said that Kyle was a teenager, and you are right, that is a load of bull.

He did show a lot of maturity and skill in X-Factor #142, though I didn't, I cried through the whole thing, forgiving Val after all of that, even as he'd forgiven Wyre, so X-Factor Kyle did have his shining moments...

Val Cooper is the 👿

His apperance when members of Alpha Flight arrived was excellent and was spot on to his Wildheart personna. Not an immature brat but a broading hero who longs to be excepted and cares about people. That and his last apperance in X-Factor were by far his best stories in the book. Other than that I just couldn't stand what they did to Kyle.

Exactally, that's why X-Factor irked me so

Would make sense if he did have a connection to Sabertooth, as Secret Empire rebuilt the old program by Department K. So why not remake a past recruit, as Department K is responsible for Weapon X's creation. Yeah I read that comment in the letters section as well, but the letter section mentioned he didn't have a healing factor they are all over the place. I would be all for it if it was revealed to be his son, as we have yet to see Kyle's parents.

They listed him as 16-17 believe it or not. Bah!

Yeah that issue, and I believe that was his last apperance in X-Factor was great as it showed he matured and showed he was an adult.

Am I the only one that noticed that Kyle's lower jaw seemed vanish during his time with X-Factor? He started to look like Chamber! Without the scars and the scarf...

Yeah, I'm still alive, I've just been distracted lately...

Ha! didn't notice that at first, but looking bad yeah abit. I was never a fan of X-Factor Wild Child.

First, let me preface this by saying great job Mungi. I've been reading up on Wild Child (I never knew that much about him before this thread), and now I'm collection all of his appearances. But I have a question that I can't seem to lose my confusion on: Is he or is he not a mutant? Was his x-gene dormant or what?

So, again, great job Mungi.

Well, he's a little of both. Originaly, in Alpha Flight, he was apparently meant to have just been a human who was experimented on by the Secret Empire and altered using DNA from the mutant Wyre. In X-Factor, however, he was shown as having been a mutant beforehand, which is why the Secret Empire chose him for the project in the first place.
Officialy, last I checked, Kyle is a mutant who has been futher mutated by various groups, the Secret Empire, Department H, Weapon X.
Supposedly his original mutation was a bestial appearance, but in the flashbacks to before his alteration by the Secret Empire, he looks completely human...
Check out X-Factor #142 for the new version
and
Alpha Flight #118 for the original.
I hope that helps.

Welcome aboard and thanks for showing interest in Kyle. He really doesn't get the respect he deserves most of the time...
