What do you think?

Do you think the new horror movies that have come out are any good or complete rubbish?? (this includes remakes)

i think that some are better than given credit for, but for the most part...they aren't that good.

There's been some decent ones, i.e. Slither, Feast,Saw 2. The rest are just..meh. I think HORRORFEST is going to produce some gems, IMO.

Slither was stupid, Feast fu*ked up with dodgy camera work and Saw 2 was pathetic!

Watch a real horror movie like Visions of Suffering by Andrey Iskanov.

Also, Severance & Wilderness were great UK horror movies.

Also, Evil Bong was Genius.

There are few diamonds in the rough.

The Descent was a masterpiece, one of the best horror films I've seen.

There's been some others, Hills Have Eyes, Hostel, High Tension, Slither; all have been very solid.

Everyone a winner in my house........apart from High Tension
What is it??..i know i could google but this forum excells at
helping out with the red stuff.

High Tension, The Hills have Eyes, and Slither were all great films. Lots of tension, gore, and some laughable moments. I don't share the same enthusiasm for Saw or Hostel. I disliked them.

haute tension is great ('switchblade romance' in the uk). slack ending tho

I didn't finish watching High Tension, it was really late and I fell asleep 😬

I liked Saw II, Saw III, Hostel, Slither was amazing, and......who knows.....

I really want to watch one of those 8 horror films. I want to watch the one with the people who have these HUGE grins, that looks scaaaa-reee

Ah yip seen Switchblade Romance
Watched it after enjoying the Hills remake
Hostel rules.....one of my faves for a while tho Cabin Fever was a mess
PANCAKES!!!!!!!!

I liked High Tension, SAW I - III, Hostel, The Descent and I loved Slither.

I've only liked 3 remakes so far and those are Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But I would choose the Original TCM and DotD over the new ones anyday.

I will most likely see these remakes anyways but be ready for many more remakes. I'm sure a lot of you know this but while browsing on IMDB I've seen;

The Last House on the Left (2008) - Here
Don't Look Now (2007) - Here
Black Christmas(2006 - First I've ever heard of the remake) - Here

and there are still a lot more in the works.

🙂

bullshit. Feast and Slither both owned. Name another movie of the camp-horror genre since Re-Animator 2 that's better. you can't, doesn't exist.

That would be the gravedancers I got that on DVD it's my favorite of the 8 films

Severance was excellent. Wilderness was one of the worst I have seen in a long time. Definitely NOT great.

How about Dog soldiers another one of neil marshalls films (The descent) ???

Dog soldiers was good, the orphanage looks to be good

I wasn't keen on Dog Soldiers first time I watched it, got to take a look at it again. The Descent(with the best ending, UK) is one of my all time favourites in the horror world.

The Orphanage does look very good Steverules.

It's a spanish film I think...the orphanage that is not dog soldiers lol just so there's no mix up...but yeah I did like the look of it so I will watch it for sure.

What happened in the US ending of the descent?
