ROTS Dooku & Anakin vs. Yoda

Could the duo beat Yoda?

Yes.

Count Dooku and Anakin could prove to be considerable problems for Yoda in an all out fight, though he'd comfortably beat them both due to his speed and Force mastery. However, at the same time, he likely couldn't handle Count Dooku's refinement with the Force and Makashi as well as Anakin's overwhelming power and brutal swordsmanship.

Honestly, Dooku didn't seem to have much trouble with parrying Yoda's incessant, acrobatic striking in AotC. If you add in Anakin, Yoda's going to be overwhelmed.

Yes, Dooku and Yoda pretty much stalemated in AOTC. I'm not so sure if he got better or worse by ROTS, but add Anakin and they'll beat Yoda.

If Yoda sends out a push, will anyone of them effectivley block it, or will both fly away? If Yoda decided just to keep them away from him, would they ever get close, or would they get knocked out?

Dooku and Yoda had a Force-Fight stalemate in AOTC. Anakin would be able to help overwhelm Yoda.

Are people still saying that?

It didn't appear to me that Count Dooku was fighting him off as effortlessly as you say. Several sources (including the Visual Guides)have stated that Dooku was unable to overcome Yoda in combat and was forced to flee.

A few months before RotS, Yoda and Dooku met in combat again. This time, it was on Vjun, a planet steeped in the Dark Side. At the end of the novel (Dark Rendezvous) Count Dooku only attacked Yoda when Yoda was distracted using the Force to stop a woman from falling to her death. And, yet, a distracted Yoda overcame him, on Vjun no less.

Dooku fled.

The only one in the PT who is equal to Yoda is Palpatine, and both of them are decidedly above Dooku. I finally got the whole Dooku > Palpatine thing squared away.

Yoda > Dooku, but yes, when you add Anakin, he's going down.

Exactly.
"Unable to defeat Yoda in combat, Count Dooku uses the force to topple a crane that threatens to crush Obi Wan and Anakin. As Yoda rescues his allies, Dooku flees in his Solar Sailer."

Also, in the force fight, Dooku couldn't harm Yoda, while, Yoda took no offensive stances at all. He blocked all the debris instead of throwing it back, and absorbed the lightning instead of directing in back at Dooku.

Honestly, he doesn't appear to show any exertion whatsoever. He's outclassed by Yoda in the force - that's a certain - but as far as the lightsabre combat went; they didn't overcome each other. I don't buy into that bullshit that the novelisation - based on an prior version of the script - makes.

Honestly, the problem lies with the EU. I'll accept the ruling that Yoda is superior to Dooku in both quarters, but the on-screen depiction of the fight showed Dooku pretty much stalemating Yoda. Yoda went all flippy and acrobatic and achieved jack. At one point, he jumps onto a series of ledge and . . . lands back where he started.

You also have to realize that Yoda never truly tried to kill Dooku because of their bond. He has always tried or hoped to bring Dooku back to the lightside, which is why he ALWAYS takes the defensive against Dooku.

He took the defensive in force combat, because he knew he would kill him otherwise. In lightsaber combat, disarming or wearing Dooku out was what was happening. Not really defensive.

my point jollyjim, is that he never truly went on the offensive because he knew he would kill Dooku. He had always wanted to bring him back so he always took the defensive with him.

lol, you both seem to be arguing the exact same thing, against each other. 😆

Grown ups are talking, go back to your corner when the big people talk.

Anyway, he uses an offensive style and was wearing Dooku down. Saying he went on the defensive is, as far as technicalities go, a wording error. Basically he was making sure not to kill him, while still using Ataru, his offensive style.

😆

Dooku wouldn't get pwned by Yoda in pure sabers. He wouldn't win but he'd last longer than most. Add in Anakin and they should win.

Dooku alone gave Yoda a pretty good fight. Anakin would even give him a better fight. Together they take him for sure.

Good question...

Damn Kamkiz...always the smart one... 😛

I say Anakin and Dooku take this as well.

But kamkiz did raise a very good question.
