Are Horror movies losing their touch?

The classics of the 70s and 80s may have scared in their time, but now the only people that would be scared by them would be kids 10 and under. I watched several movies from that era and they were a bit entertaining, but nothing that right out scared me. When I was kid I was scared by Freddy, Chucky, Jason, Michael, among others, but since I was like 14 I haven't seen many movies that gave me that feeling of true fright, maybe I haven't seen the right ones I don't know. Someone point me in the right direction.... Until then horror movies are a dying breed, and don't scare like they used to. That's my opinion.

horror movies arent losing there touch wrighters and directors are just trying to remake and milk all the famous franchises for all there worth with unoriginal junk, some have hit it nicely like jason vs freddy, while others like exorcist beginning where crap yet exorcist dominion was much better. You gotta let them run wild and they come up with stuff like saw but then they make to much money and boom saw 9 jigsaw's back for the ninth time..............why............dont know he just is why didnt he die............dont know he just didnt.
