Why does this have to happen?

Cronenburg's remake was in my opinion, AWESOMELY PERFECT. Goldblum portrayed Brundle great and Geena Davis did an excellent job.

Why do they fell the need to make a remake of a remake when Cronenburg's kicked so much ass. Are they going to call it a re-remake?

edit: It says production has been pushed back to 2008, so who knows what's going to happen now but I wouldn't doubt it if it still goes on as planned.

Just wondering what everyone's take on this was?

Arg, no way in hell any other actor is going to do better than how Goldblum did.

Yes the status is unknown since Todd Lincoln left but they are still trying to get it to work if reports are saying that production has been pushed back to 2008. So to me that is saying "Yeah Lincoln left but we are still going to try everything we can to get this made."

But I still hope this never happens and they should shelve it right now and never let it see the light of day.

A motivated actor is capable of doing incredible things. They also need to be fans. I want all my favorite movies remade...reason 1: special effects, reason 2: modern day, reason 3: a better story or script.

I really don't think this is going to happen. I guess the filmmaker saw sense.
