I kind've liked the whole socialist/communist idea behind the Confederacy, how it was controlled primarily by commerce barons and the "elitists" of the galaxy.

Though, I prefer the clones only because of the whole Stormtrooper thing - but I think the droids could've been just as effective, maybe.

Any who, the Confederacy of Independent Systems wouldn't have done as well as the Galactic Empire. Droids need parts (metals and stuff) to build them taking away parts to use for stronger ships. You would need to create millions among millions (maybe billions) of battle droids to keep order in a single planet and that would take away material needed to build fighters, cruisers, tanks, and other stuff.

The use of clones was a better choice over all.
