Look at this it's IMPORTANT..it's...big...it's...I need help..seriously ........

OK, now I know that some people really liked the Godzilla 1998 movie including myself, which is the reason why I believe they should remake the movie and make him more powerful or even make an even better sequel. I really love godzilla including the original Japanese version. However I still don't believe it's fair that they treat Zilla ( USA: godzilla)
the way they do.

Take a look at this video an tell me what you think. I really thought that it was totally wrong and unfair.

Zilla vs. Godzilla:

Now take a look at this one:

Godzilla(1998)The Animated Series:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZKW8FylTIA

Now tell me what do you see different then in the movie................RIGHT.....his size is increased when he is walking not on,but aside the Brooklyn bridge. When in the move he was small enough to fit on the bride.
And speaking of size look at this:

WOW......his foot wasn't near that size in the movie.

and this........

Zilla in my opinion seems iconic in a way to me. Definitely in this picture.

His eyes are so cool they make him seem much more powerful than he is. Which is why I think he needs to be more stronger and powerful.

and last BUT definitely not least this..

The original Godzilla. I'm still confused on why they didn't continue the movie even though it was a big hit. If anyone knows, please tell me?

bacuse I really want to know!

My guess is that because of negative public reactions, they don't think they can bring back as many viewers a 2nd time to make it worth the large budget. The 1st time, people are curious, but probably about 1/2 the people who saw the first one won't return for a sequel.

Unless they make some good trailers.

Worst thread title ever. I'm not gonna bother with the topic at hand because of the title.

Iv e got a solution, watch what you like and ignore the other.

It didn't get a remake because it got horrible ratings.

GODZILLA

HISTORY

Godzilla (¥´¥¸¥é, Gojira?) is a fictional monster featured in Japanese films and has become the world over one of the most recognized movie characters of all time. He was first seen in the 1954 film Gojira, produced by Toho Film Company Ltd. To date, Toho has produced 28 Godzilla films. In 1998, TriStar Pictures produced a remake, set in New York City.

Godzilla is seen by some as the personification of the horror of nuclear weapons. According to the legend of the cinematic behemoth, he was created by a nuclear blast. His sheer size, power and destruction evoke the fury of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As the Godzilla series continued, the great beast was developed as a character, and has become something of an anti-hero.

Godzilla is one of the defining aspects of Japanese popular culture for many people worldwide. Though his popularity has waned slightly over the years, he is still one of the most renowned monsters in the world. To this day, Godzilla remains an important facet of Japanese films, embodying the kaiju or "giant monster" subset of the tokusatsu genre.

Godzilla's appearance has changed between films over the years, but many defining details have endured. In the Japanese films, Godzilla is depicted as a gigantic dinosaur with rough, bumpy, (usually) charcoal grey scales, a powerful tail, and bone colored dorsal fins shaped like maple leaves. His origins vary somewhat from film to film, but he is almost always described as a prehistoric creature, and his first attacks on Japan are linked to the beginning of the Atomic Age. In particular, mutation due to atomic radiation¡ªfury unleashed from man splitting the atom¡ªis presented as an explanation for his great size and strange powers. Godzilla's iconic design is composed of a mixture of various species of dinosaurs; specifically, he has the body and overall shape of a Tyrannosaurus, the long arms of an Iguanodon, and the dorsal fins of a Stegosaurus.

Godzilla remains an enduring fictional character beloved by fans worldwide, and is among the few fictional characters granted a Lifetime Achievement Award when he was awarded one by MTV in 1996, becoming the second fictional character (and the first to be completely non-human in nature) to receive it.

"Godzilla, King of the Monsters" was honored on its 50th anniversary by having a plaque placed at the site of the former studio where Raymond Burr filmed his scenes, now an elementary school in March 2006. The plaque was sponsored by the Godzilla Society of North America, Platrix Chapter No. 2, E Clampus Vitus and the Los Angeles Unified School District. The location is at Belmont Elementary School, 100 N. New Hampshire, Los Angeles, CA.

Atomic Breath

Godzilla unleashes his atomic breath. (Godzilla: Final Wars, 2004)Godzilla's strongest weapon is his distinctive Atomic Breath. Godzilla's dorsal fins glow ominously, and then he lets loose with a concentrated blast of radiation from his mouth.

Godzilla has been shown apparently being able to adjust the intensity of his ray, varying from a wispy flame (such as in the 50s and 60s), to a beam with explosive and kinetic properties, (in the 70s and onward.) The beam is usually portrayed as being neon blue, though in some films it is reddish orange (in the Heisei era most often to signify an increased level of power).

In Godzilla vs. Megaguirus the beam was shown to have incredible incendiary properties and was powerful enough to destroy a miniature black hole, while in Godzilla: Final Wars, it posessed incredible range, amazing power and pin-point accuracy, able to hit a target in outer space and kill most Kaiju with a single shot. In a memorable scene in Godzilla versus the Smog Monster, Godzilla even used his atomic breath to fly by aiming it at the ground and lifting off like a rocket.

A variation on his standard Atomic Breath in the Heisei series was that Godzilla gained a terrifying red "Spiral Beam" as a result of absorbing the essence of Rodan. This beam was so powerful that only a few blasts of it was sufficient to completely destroy Mechagodzilla II and SpaceGodzilla. The spiral beam returned in Final Wars, where it was strong enough to push Kaiser Ghidorah into the upper atmosphere and then utterly destroy him in a massive explosion visible from space.

Nuclear pulse and magnetic powers
In addition to his deadly atomic breath, Godzilla can also emit thermonuclear energy in all directions from every inch of his skin in a short pulse, capable of stunning any enemy in his proximity. Godzilla only used the nuclear pulse in the heisei series. It's normaly caused by an atomic breath attack that is unable to leave the mouth.

In the movie Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, after being struck several times by lightning, Godzilla found a way to generate powerful magnetic fields from his body, which proved devastating against his metallic foe.

Using a similar power, Godzilla discharged energy up the shock anchor cables and into the heisei Mechagodzilla, overheating the robot monster's circuitry.

Durability

Regenerator G1, the secret to Godzilla's awesome durability. (Godzilla 2000: Millennium, 1999)Godzilla has displayed an uncanny ability to sustain damage over the years.

Right from the get-go, Godzilla displayed an immunity to conventional weaponry, effortlessly shrugging off everything the JSDF threw at him. His skin is so tough that it can withstand molten lava. The only times he has visibly bled were in battle with the Shôwa Gigan, Biollante, Destoroyah, and from Mechagodzilla's weapons in both the Shôwa and Heisei series.

Similar to certain lizards and salamanders, Godzilla possesses an extremely advanced and highly efficient regenerative ability. (This power was a crucial plot point of Godzilla 2000: Millennium and Godzilla vs Biollante).

In Godzilla 2000, it is explained that Godzilla's regenerative abilities may have something to do with his radioactive properties, and Organizer G1 ("Regenerator G1" in the American version) is the name given to his healing power. In Godzilla X Mechagodzilla, Organizer G1 is shown to be so powerful that even when the first Godzilla was disentagrated to nothing, it had regenerated to (at least) a skeleton of bones. Godzilla's skin is tough enough on its own to withstand most types of damage, and even when an attack breaks his hide, thanks to his advanced regeneration his wounds heal almost instantly. These factors taken together make Godzilla practically invincible.

The y shaped (Organizer G-1) cells seen in this picture repairs damaged cells.

Physical abilities

Godzilla displays formidable physical strength by throwing his arch-enemy King Ghidorah. (Godzilla vs. Gigan, 1972)Godzilla has displayed varied levels of physical strength. He is shown using martial arts in a comical fashion during the Shôwa Series, or moving very quickly in spite of his size, (such as in Zone Fighter). In the millennium series he has also been able to leap high into the air (in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus and Godzilla: Final Wars).

Godzilla's long tail is also a formidable weapon. It has been shown to be very flexible and powerful, able to lash out quickly and topple over buildings and enemy monsters. In Godzilla versus Megalon, he was even able to slide on his tail a great distance to deliver a devastating kick, and in Godzilla vesus Megaguirus it was revealed to be prehensile as well. In all his incarnations he has been shown to have powerful jaws and claws, although these are more prominent in some incarnations than in others.

However, many of the films show Godzilla preferring to battle his opponents from long range; either by using his atomic breath, or by hurling foreign objects such as boulders.

Amphibiousness
Like any amphibious creature, Godzilla spends most his life in the water, occasionally emerging from the sea to wreak havoc or save the day. He is as adept a fighter underwater as he is on land. Capable of marching on the sea floor or swimming by undulating his tail like a crocodile, Godzilla is displayed as being able to breathe underwater (often hibernating in the ocean depths between movies), and being submerged apparently does not impend his ability to fire his atomic breath. He engages opponents in the sea on multiple occasions, fighting Ebirah, Battra and King Ghidorah beneath the waves.

Weaknesses
Despite his incredible strength, Godzilla has displayed a few weaknesses over the years. Early in the Showa series, he was vulnerable to electricity, though this weakness was apparently dropped. —indeed, later films in the Showa series would portray Godzilla as being immune to electricity, or even drawing power from it. In The Return of Godzilla, Godzilla was shown to be vulnerable to Cadmium. Anti-nuclear bacteria has had an effect on him, though Godzilla's immune system was eventually able to overcome it. Later on, Godzilla is revealed to have a second brain in his spine, and Mechagodzilla was able to temporarily kill him by destroying it; however, he was revived by Rodan and further films seem to ignore this achilles heel. It was also suggested in Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla that Godzilla has a soft spot under each armpit, however the validity of this claim was highly dubious and was never exploited.

To date, the only weapon ever shown to be truly effective against Godzilla was Dr. Serizawa's Oxygen Destroyer, which was able to kill the original Godzilla, by dissolving him down to the bone and then into nothing. However, the technology for this weapon was lost forever when Dr. Serizawa died along with the original Godzilla.

Roar
Godzilla's trademark roar originally began as a low, groaning bellow, created when the series' famous composer, Akira Ifukube, rubbed a resin coated glove on a contrabass and resonated the sound, but has since developed into a highpitched shriek.

GODZILLA/ZILLA(1998)

French nuclear testing in the Polynesian islands mutated an iguana, which grew to megaproportions. The beast first attacked a Japanese fishing ship and was dubbed "Gojira" by the sole survivor (later mistranslated as "Godzilla" by the U.S. media). The creature then travelled across Panama, leaving footprints that would cover a whole bus. After travelling to New York City, the reptile laid several hundred eggs in Madison Square Garden. (a trivia book released in time for the movie claims that 229, and not the 200 that Tatapolous claims in the film, hatched and were destroyed, meaning that, counting Zilla and the surviving hatchling who appeared in the animated series, there were 231 of these creatures grand total.) A trio of F-18s bombed the Garden, slaying the newborn Zillas. When an enraged Zilla appeared at the Garden's remains, it began chasing a taxi occupied by the protagonists. They lured it to the Brooklyn Bridge, where it became entangled and immobilized by the suspension cables. Zilla was then killed by the same F-18s that had destroyed its offspring. One egg, however, deep within the subway, had survived the earlier bombing, and hatched

Zilla is mentioned briefly in the prologue of Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001), where it is suggested that American scientists had mistaken it for the real Godzilla.

Zilla runs rampant in Sydney.Zilla did not appear in film again until five years later then in 2004, Zilla appeared in Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), finally taking an official place in the ranks of Toho's kaiju and being given the official name "Zilla". (According to Ryuhei Kitamura, the monster was given this name because the American movie had taken the "God" out of "Godzilla".[1]) Under Xilian control, Zilla attacks Sydney, Australia, and is later defeated by the real Godzilla. There was another reason for the fight according to Toho besides showing their Godzilla was a better monster. Toho created Zilla in Final Wars exclusively using CGI to prove their suitmation superior (in Japan, Godzilla is always portrayed by an actor wearing a suit). Surprisingly, Zilla was seen apparently eating two people in Final Wars, something few other Toho Kaiju have done. Zilla himself, despite the destruction of Apache helicopters in Godzilla, was not shown to have a taste for human flesh and actually seemed almost curious about humans, or at the very least Nick Tatopolous, with whom the creature came virtually eye-to-eye with, so to speak. The creature only attacked humans when it was attacked in the TriStar film, although it attempted to swallow the cab containing the main characters, whom had killed its offspring.

Though disputed, it appears as if the Final Wars Zilla possessed a breath weapon as the film shows a crowd of people running until they are blown away by a wall of fire which precedes the appearance of the monster walking into camera view.

Also in Godzilla: Final Wars was a reference to the TriStar Godzilla Movie. When Godzilla defeats Zilla, the Controller of Planet X says "I knew that tuna-eating monster was useless." - a reference to the fish Zilla ate in the TriStar movie, in the American dubbed version, the Controller simply referred to him as a "tuna-head".

Godzilla: The Series
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla:_The_Series

Godzilla: The Series, 1998In 1999, Godzilla: The Series, a Saturday morning cartoon, continued the story of Zilla's surviving baby from the 1998 film in a role reminiscent of the Japanese films of the late Shôwa era. A human team of researchers, known as H.E.A.T., composed out of most of the movie's protagonists, follow "Zilla" and investigate various new monsters around the world. The Zilla in this series was a lot closer to the original Godzilla in terms of strength and durability, and also had the atomic fire Godzilla is known for (albeit a green blast instead of blue), but still resembled its predecessor. This series was received extremely well by the mainstream Godzilla fandom. Since he was the offspring of the orginal creature, this version of Zilla is sometimes unoffically reffered to as "Zilla Jr."

The original Zilla returns as a creature called "Cyber Godzilla" in the three-part Monster Wars saga. An alien race called the "Leviathans" resurrect the original Zilla using cybernetic components. Confronting the current Zilla, his son, this 'Cyber-Godzilla' is able to confuse him, allowing the Leviathans to gain control of him as they have controlled several other monsters. Eventually, Nick Tatopulous, the scientist whom Zilla Jr. has 'imprinted' on as a parent, is able to break the Leviathans' hold on the creatures, but Cyber-Godzilla remains on their side as he was never actually under their control. When faced with a choice between Nick and Cyber-Godzilla, however, Zilla Jr. sides with Nick, and after a prolonged battle defeats his cyborg 'parent'.

this is getting ridiculous, this is at least the 4th thread you made on godzilla in a row.

I agree. Can this be merged or something?

Yeah I'm I definitely like Godzilla but I have to agree with FC and Myth here; Merge the threads.
