I am having a problem with the brightness on my computer. I have the brightness at its maximum level and it is still darker than other computers... does anyone know what is wrong?

Can be a couple of things, what type of monitor are you using CRT, LCD? With LCD it can be that you backlight is about to go or the inverter. With CRT they normally are darker then LCD screens.

Try setting the brightness high on any games, nvidia/ati programs, too. Some have universal effects.
