i may be getting the book this evening
so watch this space for scans

Mine's been sent out too.... I wonder how long it'll take. It has to come from the UK.

Well i got the book(my chick bought it for me in return for carrying her shopping bags.....RESULT!)
First impressions - not as many rare BTS photos as i thought there would be but weve been spoiled here havent we...theres enough though inside i just thought there would be more.
The concept models pics are excellent and the never seen before storyboards are awesome.
The interviews and stuff on the making of the movie are at first glance top notch too. ......plenty of revelations like this -
"some of the Stormtroopers are women, but there werent that many assigned to the death star...................."

heres a couple of pics
ill scan more in time but i dont want to ruin the book

apologies for these not being too straight
the book is a bit on the heavy side
ive had a look around and i reckon that KMC is the only site with scans up so far

Those are great!!

Is the book worth it, because I saw it at Coles the other day and wasn't sure if it was good or not, especially for $100 dollars...

Its £35 in the UK
The interviews seem pretty good after a quick flick
theres a softback version out for £25 i hear

It is 100 here without a membership and 87 with...

If I were to get it at all, I would probably go for the hard cover, the soft cover would just seem odd...

Do you think it is worth it?

The softcover has 40 pages less
storyboards and stuff
it seems a good read
i love it personally
yip its worth the £35 my missus paid out
i would have bought it myself sooner or later but soon as i saw it i wanted it right away

Alright, then it will definately be hard cover if I get it. I will probably end up getting it.

I got the hardback through Amazon for 27 pounds UK... Lovely book, big and a good read.

So you think it is worth it?

it is a very good read
i found out a few new things or stuff long forgotten for instance
Luke being put on a windmill by the Tuskens originally

QUOTE - The Making of Star Wars book...correction

In the new Making of Star Wars book by J. W. Rinzler, John Mollo is quoted as stating that Liz Moore sculpted the armor of the stormtrooper for Star Wars in 1976. This information was inaccurate at press time since Brian Muir was the one who sculpted the stormtrooper armor. Subsequent editions of the book will be corrected to state that fact.

So we got rare editions then
ill put it with my non subtitled ANH vhs and unreleased Duel Of The Fates Cd single.

theres an excellent new site with tons of unusual OT pics turned up
the guy who runs it wants me to contribute stuff from my collection
and there will be a forum up in time
on his site are a lot of B/W stills - some weve had, some from sites from the early days of the net, some completley new to myself, some i recognize from various mags from way back and a bunch we were due to have today and tommorow
Seeing as 75% of the new pics on the cdr i aquired at a SF fair on sunday may have been lifted from this site there is no point posting them here if they are a click away
i guess this is the end of this thread then
theres still a fair few he hasnt posted on the site that i have though but maybe hes got them ready for posting
god only knows how many PT pics he has
and theres me thinking this thread would hit 100!
