is jedi a religion ?

Is jedi an official religion ?? alot of true fans do say it is and also belive in the force 🙂

or is it already a religion ? 😕

Yep. Try looking up somewhere about the mass hoax in the 2001 UK census.

Since when could a person become a religion?

Not a person. Jedi could be called the Jedi's religion because it doesn't have another name. I have no idea.

I know its an official religion in Australia.

Hehe i bet not one of these idiots can move a small stone 000000000.0001% of a millimetre with "the force"

It's just a wind up, a way of thumbing your nose at the government or the religion census (I hope)

The closest thing I can think of is Taoism which believes not in any deity but in balance (yin/yang) in the universe/nature. It also refers to "chi" energy which is present in all living things.....apparently

Somewhere, I suppose. But religions being "official" is a laughable concept; the idea of religion does not need to be official. One can be independent, or just plain strange. Religion does not have to apply only to the main belief systems prevalent in the world. It pertains to all belief systems that involve spirituality or some concept of supernatural explanations for the way the world works.

Anyone who believes in the Force should stand in front of the 3:45 down in Portland and try to stop it using only their Jedi powers.

The Jedi belief system also closely mirrors Stoicism.

how could that be a religion

Nerds + Star Wars = Anything is possible.

Interesting....

Star Wars" enthusiasts may be thrilled but government officials in Australia and England are balking at an email campaign encouraging fans to declare "Jedi" — as in "Jedi Knights," the zen-like warriors of the film series — as their religion on census forms.

"If there are enough people in the country, about 10 000, who put down the same religion," says a typical message, "it becomes a fully recognised and legal religion."

Not so, say census-takers. They warn that people who do so may be subject to prosecution for entering false information.

Blame New Zealand

It all started as a prank in New Zealand, which held its census on March 6. The anonymous email emerged a week or two before that and gathered momentum so rapidly that soon even those without Internet access had heard about it by word of mouth or news coverage. Some Kiwis reported receiving this message as many as a dozen times:

Census question 18 deals with religion. If you believe in no one specific religion or just simply object to answering that particular question, then please consider the following alternative.....

We are trying to encourage people to tick the 'other' box and then fill their religion in as "JEDI" - all Star Wars fans will understand, but the point of the exercise is two-fold...

1. if 8000 people throughout new zealand do this then JEDI will become an officially recognised religion which would be a laugh, and

2. it's a bit of an experiment in the power of email, as that has been our primary means of communication, that's not to say that you can't tell others about in other ways. but I would urge you to do the above and pass this message/idea on to as many of your friends, relatives etc. as you can so we can reach the magic number of 8000, be swift as we don't have a lot of time left!

May the Force be with you

In spite of the Statistics bureau's census eve efforts to deflate the campaign, an estimated five percent of New Zealanders wrote in "Jedi" on the form, according to the Sunday Times in London.

I suppose if you wanted to "practice" the force under the teachings of the Jedi then I would imagine you can. You can't use the force, because it doesn't exist, but following the Jedi Code in philosophy is noble and should be tolerated, allowed, and probably respected.

I was watching tv and these two hard core fans belive in the force and said the force is inside them .

Jedi is fiction and man made as all religions.
How studip can one be......🙂

It was a nice invention in Star Wars, but in real life - use your common sense.

Next is that Santa becomes a religion....

You realize that, although you put 9 0's infront of the decimal point, it would still be .0001% or 0.0001%. ermm

Think about it! If it is an official religion why are they trying to make a official religion!

😂
