Yes, there is a difference between spamming advertisments, or forums, or actual dumb pointless ones like 'post within 10mins and your true love with phone you' which are complete shit, and just sending a pm with a hug.

I dont see how that is completely pointless or annoying, it requires nothing more than a few minutes to send. I mean if its not your thing then fine but is it really that big of a deal? How often do you tell people here you appreciate them, I certainly dont do it that often and I was in a jolly mood and figured I'd do it. 3 people apparently thought to share it with you as acknowledgment cause they think you could have gained something from it, there is no loss of self respect or whatever just by taking part in it.

Yeah, I did read it. And yes, I did find it annoying. I dislike forwards - of ANY type - for starters. I also very much dislike random pointless PMs because I get enough damn PMs a day (frankly, I dislike getting PMs altogether but can't turn off my PMs because a lot that I get are people asking me things that relate to my mod duties).
So when I saw that in my inbox, and then got home from work later to find two more, I didn't think "oh, that's sweet", I thought "goddamnit I get chain crap in my email, on myspace, and on DA, and apparently here now as well?"

Why do you dislike something of this nature though? I already posted on the last page about the medium used to distribute it, but what is bad about the content?
Yep, cause 3 people took the time to send it to you cause they thought you would appreciate it, which is the difference from those mindless 'join this' 'click this' 'check out my page' crap that people send randomly for attention.
When I saw the thread I was expecting half the replies so it wasnt a surprise, but I am disappointed in the result nonetheless, it was just meant as a 'brighten someone's day' thing, and yet people still cant do that.
