Batdude's Tourney Discussion Thread

Yes Blair, but even the way that she's been restricted, she'll still over Thanos. Having EVERY conceivable power that's JUST under Thanos available at a whim, actually puts you OVER Thanos, because he doesn't have access to all of those powers. You have an unlimited supply of herald level characters at your immediate disposal. You drafting her, would be NO different than me drafting Amazo, but restricting him so that he can only use one persons abilities that are under Thanos that he's copied at a time(for that matter, can she steal more than one power at a time, cause if she can then we could also remove the one at a time restriction, and just make any Justice Leaguer that's under Thanos).

She also has to know about them. So she just can't steal EVERY magic power she wants. They had to bring her close to Spectre and show him to her before she could steal his power.

I've read her every appearence. And thus far she has only shown to be able to steal two powers at once, and we and BW agreed to use only two that are under the tourney limits.

Ok, I pulled this off of wiki(it was the only place I could find that had a detailed description of her powers), does it sound accurate? If not, what's inaccurate about it?

Black Alice has the ability to temporarily usurp the magical powers of any being, even ones as powerful as the Spectre, gaining all its skills and power and leaving it powerless in turn. The limit to the distance at which she can steal power of a target being is unknown. However, in order to choose a particular target she must be able to see him/her; otherwise, she receives a random magic-user's powers whenever she activates her ability. When she steals a being's power, her clothing partially transforms to somewhat resemble that of her target. She has even shown the ability to steal the powers of two beings simultaneously.

I'm sure that she's had contact with people who's got access to Super Strength/Durability, Super Speed, Spell Casting Abilities, Transmutation, Telepathy, Telekinesis, Healing Abilities, and God only knows what else. Like I said, that would be no different than my drafting Amazo, and limiting the number of JL members powers he can use at a time. The fact would remain that I essentialy don't have to make an actual pick in the first round, because I can choose between any number of Herald level characters any time I want.

That is all that matters.

As far as I know that's right ... if she can't see them she gets a random power - I know I've seen that happen before.

If she knows about them, she can take their powers. And like - said - before:

"We will only use the powers she has been SHOWN to use. Nothing more. We will show scans of these. And make sure she stays UNDER Thanos level."
