The Symbols Thread: Let's Trace our POTC Symbols

You rather believe only in things that are considered rumors and the damn media. When I sincerely trust on T&T. I know the possibilities, I know what may come, but I'm not giving up. What are the possibilites?

It could be Gibbs marrying Liz living happily ever after.

Will marries Gissele

If it's a cluser they are doing, a closure we are gonna get.

For now, I'm thinking of the possibilties of Will and Liz, but it won't mean it will happen like that exactly. I won't let people trying to be so damn dramatic with the tears and the T&T sucks and the mourning stop me from watching this movie and have hope.

Nothing is confirmed, and if you ask me I smell somthing very, VERY fishy about this.

I'm with Mina on this we all need to just calm down and take a deep breathe. We can not let stupid rumors cloud our faith and bring us down. We need to remember that rumors are EVIL they only meant to cook up trouble. Please everyone we must not throw in the towel. We all need to stay strong and positive. The next time you read a stupid rumor just keep saying to yourself that rumors are EVIL!!

Hey Im Back sorry about my blow up yesterday....i just seriously couldnt handle the negativity anymore! I want to Keep my faith bout Jack and Liz but i cant do that with ppl constantly losing grip of themselves....and Yesterday i seriously had to much stress and i didnt need negative comments about my Fav movie haunting me all day....so i left it was more of health move than anything....dont want more nervous breakdowns!

Yeah, Im glad we are alll back. I did what I could and what I had to do to cool things around here. Hopefully that last post on the bad news sparrabeth will end it all.

wow... i totally missed this thread...since it came about when I was on my hiatus from POTC/KMC....very interesting....I don't have time to read all of this...someone tell me what was discoverd when you all disected the meaning of the song in the opening scenes of AWE. Please.

I don't know if this is symbolism, but it is definitely a parallel. In the DMC director's commentary, T&T are talking about how they would have redone the scene where Liz has the dress as like a marionette and convinces the crew to go to Tortuga. One of them says she's the most pirate-y of all the characters and "all the books will say she hijacked that ship without ever firing a shot. Who does THAT sound like?"

There are a lot of references to Liz and the Pearl being parallel, but in some ways, I think Jack and Liz can be symbols or reminders of each other.

That definitely sounds like Jack, she used her tricky ways to get what she wanted. And about those new pics, those clothe she is wearing, doesn't it look more like Jack's? 😱

I think that's some kind of symbolism: their costumes are similar, her skin is getting darker. They are subtle, but they are there. Plus the picture with her, Jack, and Barbossa walking on the beach, they look very much alike.

IMO Liz looks like crab, Im kidding hehe. She looks more darker and more piratey. She is not the same person we first saw in COTBP. She has change emotionally and physically. She looks totally different. What was interesting is that she is wearing a cloth wrapped around her waist.

oh yeah. jack has a cloth around his waist... is that what you were thinking?

Agreed....I love that pic...she and jack and Barbossa look so tough walking side by side...they have a look of determination on their face...as they approach Beckett and Will....can't wait to see this scene...

But yes...Liz is turning more and more into Jack..."we're very much alike you and I, I, You, Us....you will come over to my side, I know it." very foreshadowing words, don't ya'll think?

Lovely use to talk about this all the time way back in August and September - how Liz was dressing like Jack, acting like Jack even in DMC and her hat theory, remember that? What worries me - LOvely was such a HUGE supporter of J/E...but supposedly after she read the "final" script...she gave up.... 🙁 I kind of take that as a bad sign...like it's W/E...or else, she'd still be here chatting away and typing all her theories..what do you all of you think?

well as far as Lovely, last i heard she still had hope! but she was still upset about certain things! as fas as her not being here...last time she was here she went off on a couple of us...then apologized, and explained that her grandfather was very ill and she was afraid he wouldnt be around much longer...she also expressed her closeness with him! so my prayers are with her and hoping that the worst hasn't reached her family! 🙁 so that may be the reason why she hasn't been around!
