Prep is short for 'preparation' time. With this, many characters like Batman, Doom and Reed can seemingly attain Demigod-like attributes and can defeat infinite abstracts. The amount of time a character needs to overthrow Zeus, Odin or Galactus may vary. Most of the time, characters are allowed to pull WMD's out of their respective rectums.

Prep - Taking time to analyze the opponent and come up with a solution to defeat said opponent.
However, one thing that is forgotten is that not everyone's preparation is the same as the other. Here's an example
Dr Strange with prep is practicing incantations and grabbing some artifacts.
Iron Man with Prep is adjusting his armor.
Hulk with prep is preparing to smash, maybe getting more pissed.
This tends to be a confusing subject, however, because most would think that Wolverine with prep = Ultimate Nullifier or some shit. Most tend to forget that you've gotta go through Galactus to get it.
