Not really. Dooku just did what Palpatine told him. If anything he was a lesser character at best. Heck with the logic you would use I could say Grievous was one of the most important characters because he conquered core planets during the Clone War.

Of course Dooku is an important character, just because the storyline doesnt revolve around him doesnt make him obcolete. He started the CW, created the Clone Army, created the Droid army, created the CIS, was the key figure head in the CIS, was one of the best jedi that the jedi order ever encountered and trained his own personal army of Dark Acolytes. If it wasnt for Count Dooku im sure the OT and much of the PT would be very different.

Whoa. All those things the CW, Clone Army, Droid Army, CIS, and so on were all because Palpatine had him do it. Hate to say it but Dooku just stands in the shadow of the true dark Lord of the Sith and can (and was) replaced.

Don't get me wrong, Dooku is one of my favorite SW characters. Only below Anakin/Vader.

Oh, for sure. Im not saying that Dooku is more important than the likes of Anakin or Sidious, just that he was a pivotal character in the development of the saga. Despite being told what to do by Sidious, it was still Dooku who did all the hard work.

Dooku had some important actions he did, but he had very minimal screen time...

Yeah Dooku's cool. He could have had a bigger role in Episode III instead of that being beheaded first 15 minutes thing. But no point in complaining about it.
