action comics by donner updates *spoilers abound*

just read the 1st 2 issues of the donner written action comics. heres the summary, in case someone's interested.

superman's minding his own business (meaning everybody's) when a meteor somes craching from the heavens. supes drops eveything he's doing to stop the foreign object. upon his interception, he discover that the object is not a meteor but an aircraft. the aircrafts opens revealing a boy inside. before superman can do anything, the military shows up and demands custody of the boy. the military took the boy in a lab. it was to supes surprise when the boy started speaking kryptonese. supes talks to the kid saying he needs to leave, but the kid objects. supes said he'll be back by tomorrow and left the boy under the military's care. the next morning, superman returns to visit the kid, but the military has moved him without supes knowledge. supes goes after the man in charge (gen. steele) and demands to know where the boy is. when he learns about the boy's location, superman attacked the convoy and "kidnaps" the kid. he then takes the kid to smallville.

while in smallville with lois and the kents, clark tries to convince his parents to raise the kryptonian boy. the kents disagree saying they are too old to care for another child. clark tried to convince lois, too, but to no avail. superman has no choice but to give the child back to the government. he contacts gen steele to arrange the meeting. the phone call was intercepted by none other than lex luthor. luthor opens a door to a room where he holds bizarro. luthor then orders bizaaro to retrieve the child. meanwhile, superman meets with gen. steele to hand over the boy in frot of a media horde, which superman arranged to keep steele honest. while this is going on, superman is attacked by bizaaro. bizaaro goes on a rampage while looking for the boy. he grabs a human kid and breaks his arm, exclaiming he's not superboy. bizaaro's idea is to basically pummel every kid until he finds the one left standing. superman does his thing and defeats bizaaro. in the wake of this incident, lois has a change of heart and decides to "adopt" the child, naming him christopher "chris" kent. unbeknownst to superman, the child's spacecraft has broken free from the phantom zone, thus freeing our favorite goateed villain, gen zod and his cronies. he's looking for his son...
