Name the last truly original superpowered character.

I appreciate everyone's gusto, but 10 years, dammit. That's the cut off date. 10 years and under. No older.

The whole point of this was to find at least ONE new super-power. I guess there isn't any...🙁

Even some Authority comics are older than 10 years, or at least the stormwatch comics are, right?

Madrox

I would have to say Madrox the multiple man is the most recent comic character to have "original" powers.

Spawn. (1992)
And The Darkness. (1996)

While there is nothing new in gaining powers from the devil, or coming back after death, McFarlane combined the ideas to make a pretty unique character, with the added twist that the faster Spawn uses his powers, the faster he will lose them... I think that's pretty unique.

And The Darkness fits your requirements in that it is 10 years old, and I also don't know of anybody else who has his specific, unique powers.

True, especially with the realization recently that he actually isn't even a mutant

Some that stick out in my mind, I don’t know if they are in the 10 year limit.

Mojo
Longshot
Fables comic series
Maggot
Dust

Marshall Law - A Super-Being Policing Super Beings, looooong before
anybody else thought of it.

Guy Gardner - WAS on an original track. A Rotten, half-crazy dude,
(only human at the time) wanting to be a super hero
so bad, he was willing to make his way to Oa, and
steal the Yellow Power ring after a battle of wills
against the spirit of one of the most dangerous beings
in DC. Not bad.

Bloodshot - Was the first character to be created through the use of
Nanotechnology.

MadGod Sector 3600 - An entire sector of space becomes sentient, and
battles the Green Lanterns and a bunch of Guardians.

Strong Guy - As much as it pains me to admit it, has an original power.

Unus - always in a force field, practically becoming a prisoner of it.

Mr. Mxy
Spectre

Both are very original IMO.

Well I don’t know about Bloodshot, there were characters before him that were created with Nanos like Nimrod, Cable and some others if I remember right.

I really don’t thing that Strong Guy has to original of a power, you had the likes of Shaw before him.

That reminds me of that stupid deer in that pirate anime 😕

Except this guy is Canadian...and isn't part of some stupid Japanese cartoon

Lay off of One Piece , the Dub is horrible , but the Manga is pretty good.

Darkoth the Death Demon had a Metal Skeleton before Wolverine did.

Darkoth - 1st appearance in January of 1974, Fantastic Four #142.
Promethium Skeleton.

Wolverine - 1st appearance in October of 1974, Hulk #180.
Adamantium Skeleton.

Yeah, you are right. On both counts.

I still like Maggot, just an odd character but a funny power.

Wolverine did have a regenerative healing factor before anyone else, though - right?
Plus, the concept was pretty radical for the time. A heroic character with a dark edge - drinking, smoking, chasing skirt - and no qualms about killing people who oppose him or just deserve it ( fitting, that he and the Punisher should debut in the same year.) And, he was virtually the first such major character - from Marvel or DC - who was Canadian.

whether ten yrs or not, the most unique comic charcter of all time would have to be the reverend from Authority, his powers is basically infecting ppl with a bio electric virus, and every person they touch it gets passed on, and the more ppl they touch the stronger he got...he could also control there minds too, and it got to the point where he had control over 2/3 of the earth's population...literally having the combined stretngh and durability of hundreds of millions of ppl..in fact, he was so strong just one punch sent apollo careening around the entire globe in 8 minutes..he was moving so fast that he actually parted giant waves in the sea, and crashing thru mounatins and buildings didnt slow his pace either...that's freaking unique

How about overide, he had the power to stop all tech from working, I can't think of anyone eles who can do that.

Hey I remember that guy Captain America annual right?. I thought that annual was pretty good. I was thinking about him the other day for a debate but he had no bio.

I think his power was that he could control all tech with his mind not just swith it off.
