My dad once saw a guy getting decapitated at work due to a crane cable snapping and the guys body ran about 10 yards before collapsing. He told me that when I was about 10 and it still f*cks me up when I think about it. My dad was a steelworker and he was totally shaken up when he came home from work that day, I can still vividly remember it.

it's called nerves people. Even though the head has been removed from the body the nerves in its body still work but only for a short period of time.
