Shadow King
Despero
Mastermind
Cassandra Nova
Gamesmaster
Stryfe
Vulcan

Team one Heroes

Gamesmaster manipulates the weaker heroes of team 1 so that only a few remain heroic while the others are now on team 2, and while the others may try to stop him, he could simply cancel out their power. Despero would ensure they wouldn't have long to think. Even Shadow King has proven to be a match for Prof X. You can continue dissing Gamesmaster all you want, but I would bet money that the villains win here.

Has Xavier shown susceptibility to Gamemaster? If not, it’s just speculation. And Gamemaster being difficult to find is irrelevant, because they won’t be looking for him. In a confrontation of this sort, he would be of no use if he’s hiding. Considering the experience that most of Marvel’s top tier TPs (especially X and Jean) have had with the Shadow King, TPs hiding on the astral plane or dividing their presence among multiple minds isn’t anything new to them. What types of feats does he have against TPs?

The biggest threats IMO are Despero and Nova. But MM has taken Despero down in the past, hasn’t he? And the mutants would almost certainly be prepared for another fight with Nova.

no, MM has not taken down Despero. It's usually the other way around. Not to mention Moondragon and Oracle are crap. and Stryfe is being slept on. The villains are just way more powerful.

why isn't APOC here

Even if you cancel my points, Utrigita, you've only done so at the expense of your own. Afterall, you've not tipped the scales either.

HandofFate, I don't use my opinions. Actually, I use directories, including Marvel's. For example:

"The Upstarts later began a campaign called the “Younghunt,” an attempt to capture several young heroes from the teams X-Force and the New Warriors. The captives were brought to the Gamesmaster's base in the Swiss Alps. Their teammates attempted to rescue them, only to be defeated by the Gamesmaster, who possessed the bodies of the mutants by using his telepathic ability to control others for the first time. The Gamesmaster was challenged directly by the mutant Paige Guthrie (later known as Husk), who argued that a greater game would be to compete with Charles Xavier and others like him who hoped to find and guide the next generation of mutants. The Gamesmaster agreed and allowed the heroes to leave. This also proved to be last activity the Upstarts would perform as a group."

Gamesmaster is also difficult to locate telepathically, as he has presence within many minds. You asked me, HandofFate, why Professor X wouldn't be a challenge. The answer is simple. Xavier hasn't shown an immunity like Jean Grey to Gamemaster's ability to cancel out a mutant's power, meaning Prof X would be powerless, literally.

Then so be it. Because none of us are posting anything that can be of use in the debate.

What I wanted to point out is that he isn't that invincible as you make him look like, he has been defeated TWICE one correct by husk and Jean Grey and the other time By Jean Grey alone.

Yes there are some weak heroes (to weak this is actually 5 against 7) but it is matched by Professor X which has already taken down Shadow King once, Emma should be capable of bringing down Stryfe seeing how she defeated Rachel and possible Mastermind since his greatest power is his illusions. but this is telepathy so isn't useble. Vulcan and Cassandra Nova would probably be defeated by Rachel, since she is easily the strongest of the three. Gamesmaster would in my openion lose to Jean yet again, don't know enough about Jonn and Despero, but Jonn should be capable of beating him if he got help from the "rest" of the heroes.

Agreed. We have nothing showing Gamemaster as a Xavier level telepath. AAMOF, the fact that he can't shut out the minds around him (which any young telepath under Xavier teaching can do) show a very big weakness, in my opinion.

Does it, HandofFate? I mean, the fact that his power could be so strong that he is an omnipath in essence, and madness isn't necessarily a weakness in battle, as evidenced by the above comment regarding Joker. If he wears this device that limits his powers and still yet manages to defeat many mutants, where is your evidence that without the device he couldn't blow Prof X or even Jean Grey away? Without evidence we have a stalemate at best.

However, I'm still of the opinion that the villains would most likely be victorious.
