I'm pretty sure that if the person in question wanted help they'd have asked in one of the threads for that purpose in the Signature forum. Posting in the sig rating thread simply means that you will get rated, and that is all. Giving someone a low rating because you think their sig is bad is not rude in the slightest. If he had said "that sig ****ing sucks you noob" that would have been rude. But just rating it according to his opinion is not, at all.
I'm really not quite sure why you're not getting this, as it's very simple.

No, it's called I know my stuff and I'm damn picky with what I like. The better sig makers on here tend to be very hard raters, unlike people who give 10s on every single thing.
There is no such thing as an unnecessarily harsh rating when asking for an opinion, and if you believe that, you're in for some rude awakenings in the real world.

His are good no doubt about it. But the guys on the Vs threads do amazing work.
