my extent of NY knowledge extends to the possesion of all seinfeld dvd box sets and the Sex And The City collection(aint mine that one) but on a serious note im well informed /posses/have interests in -
NY rap from 81 - 89 from Sugarhill records to BDP,breakdancing,80s graffitti and i have numerous books/documentarys on the scene as i do about disco including ones on The Loft,Studio54,Paradise Garage and the Roxy,art from Basquait,Keith Harring and Andy Warhol and The Factory
The Strokes,Yeah Yeah Yeahs,Michael Alig and the club kids,
James Brown live at the Apollo,a shit load of DFA and LCD SOUNDSYSTEM releases...all entertainment but all about NY

i may not have been to NY and i may not be aware that people of all creeds in NY skip through the streets blowing kisses and hugging each other but i know enough about NY even though its mostly about art and culture but i suspect know more than you do about whats goin down culturally in my neck of the woods.
