Terrible Tragedy in Canada - Parent's who kill their kids.

3 days ago in Toronto, Ontario, Canada a Mother threw her 3 year old son off of an overpass onto the 401 Highway. She then jumped off herself. Both were killed.

This is the second such event in Toronto in the last year as in March 6 2005 a father did the same with his 5 year old daughter. Luckily in that case the Girl managed to survive.

I'd like youre toughts on this subject, it hits very close to home for me cause the infant brother of a friend of mine was drown by his mother about 8 years ago.

Why on earth would a parent do this to their child?

At least the mother was killed.

OMG that is terrible! there is a lot of that here, nothing much else other than killings, it is sick! If these people have personal problems i really do think they should see someone about them as it is not fair on the children!

this reminds me of that ***** who drove her kids into a lake.

No word yet on why she did it, Police were having trouble IDing the bodies.

Probably just desperate not wanting to lose her kids but not wanting to survive either, sometimes things like this look like they are the only way out. Sick as it may be...

That's not an excuse. And to be honest I really don't care what the woman wanted. It doesn't justify her actions at all.

I don't think justification is gonna happen, but you can at least attempt to understand what led the parent to do something like this. Not saying agree with their actions, but try to see that the situation must have been seriously shitty for it to have gone that far.

No of coruse not, I never said anything like that. I said the mother's motives in this case don't really matter to me cause it can never justify the act.

Again I never said anything like that. I think they feel misplaced pity for a person that brutally murderered a 3 year old child.

Of course it's an excuse, a bad one but an excuse all the same.

And of course it doesn't justify her actions, Bush can't justify his actions in Iraq either but at least I can understand why he did it. I can also understand why Hitler killed Jews and I can't justify that either.

I don't pity her, the woman deserves her death the children did not. That doesn't mean she didn't have a reason to do it though.
