Because it's not that powerful, and if bendis is making it that powerful he's highly depowering Strange and overpowering Iron fist. I just liked the idea of it, I also think somebody mentioned it on another board or something.

Mighty Avengers is closer to an Avengers team than New Avengers, it definetly has the right powerset you seem to think the Avengers absolutely need to have. So Bendis is writing the book off of Cho? But Cho is leaving the book for a little while after the first arc? Wait.. how will Bendis write it then? I wonder 🙄.

Waste of time? So it achieved absolutely nothing then I would gather? Not like it would introduce the New New Avengers, or show the badassery of the Iron Fist amped by Strange or the c#nt punt. Or the fact that of course it's the first issue and yet you imagine it to somehow be instant magic? No book is like that. It takes time.

Fail? As an avengers book, yes it will fail. In terms of sales? Hell no

The New "Avengers" were already introduced 😐

They didn't actually DO anything besides fight ninjas and save Echo. I mean did they really need the entire team for that?!? Hell they could have just sent Wolverine, I mean ninjas litterly throw themselves onto his claws nowadays. And they sure as hell didn't need Strange.

I mean it may as well have gone like this..

Dr. Strange: I have the power to end this battle and save echo in a matter of seconds, but rather I'm just going to sit here and sit here and taunt the ninjas with some magic that a rookie could easily do

Wait, some magic that a rookie could easily do? How do you know this? Do you happen to train in "magic"? I don't reckon you do. Ever think that possibly Strange might have a reason for not going in there all guns blazing and killing them all? Or the fact that none of them went there to purposely kill and destroy the Hand ninja's, just to save Echo. Which is why once they had they teleported away.

How the hell will it fail as an Avengers book? Bullcrap, sure it'll be rebooted after a while as always but it won't fail by a long shot. It's a good idea, just because it's branched out and different from your rather conservative must be the same usual suspect of Avengers, doesnt mean its a failure. It's nice to see variety every now and then, I'm not 100% keen on the lineup but i'm definetly giving it an open-minded shot.

Yes, that's why I refered to them as the New New Avengers, they are a new team. Was Iron Fist on the team? No. Was Strange? No. Was Whoever Ronin Is? No. Cap's gone from the lineup and so is Stark, they have to reintroduce it in a way.

What else did you wish them to do in 25 pages? Go to space, fight the silver surfer, Save the world from Galactus, Strange fails to find a cure for Iron Fist's pjama wearing fetish and Spider-Woman and Wolverine have a child with reality changing powers? No.

They did quite alot, it explained what Ronin had been up to for the last few months. Gave quite alot of action and quite alot of dialogue via Maya.

Either way, If you don't like it don't buy it.

does anyone think that the new ronin might possibly be Misty Knight, Black Cat, or Jubilee?

I also personally think this New Avengers team is stupid, but now I'm intrigued of who this new Ronin might be. Who knows, may be it'll turn out to be some great fighter that's hardly ever appeared.

Misty and Black cat already have their own title, Heroes for Hire. Jubille is a possibility but I doubt it!

Meh. I think NA will be a pretty good title, so long as people don't expect the traditional 'Avengers' feel.

Truth be told, it would have recieved a lot better reaction if it had a new, never-bin-used team name, rather then being dubbed with one of the most traditional team names in the MU. 😬

This could be more like another Heroes for Hire team than an Avengers team.

I actually liked the book, I mean, aside from Strange they're all pretty much Street level characters, right? (Unless Ronin turns out to be Sentry for some reason) And I think it'd be a good team to build on from there. I hate that Cage is the leader, though. In my mind, he's not A-list - nope, not at all - at least not until he goes back to wearing those silk shirts.

Grimm's probably upset they don't have Thing on there, or he's not even considered a possibility for Ronin.
